The Research Based Argument Essay 5B 2015

From the desk of Lorraine

Dear Teachers,

There has been some controversy about my new idea of introducing free chocolate milk to students at lunch. We need to make a decision about this very soon. Can you please email me what you think about this? Sincerely, Lorraine

So let’s ask the kids what they think!

Chocolate Milk Argumentative Essay Dear Lorraine, I really think that giving out free chocolate milk is a BRILLIANT idea because its really healthy in a way. What I mean is, chocolate milk has IMPORTANT nutrients such as protein, vitamin A, vitamin D and Calcium. (According to the Midwest Dairy Association) Normally I only get vitamin C from fruits at breakfast and snack. (So as Marika Grace Robertson, Pablo Romero and SungYeon Park.) People say we shouldn’t drink chocolate milk every single day because its “really unhealthy”! (Maybe parents might complain too). So I think we shouldn’t have chocolate milk every single day because if we do we will have two gallons of sugar in our body at the end of the year. So I think we can change your plan a little and make some tokens or tickets. Maybe it can be like popsicle friday or popcorn friday. 1 token or ticket will equal 1 bottle of chocolate milk. So we can get chocolate milk twice a week. (The idea of Marika Robertson and Sairi Iida 5B). Some people might not like chocolate milk. So we should get these straws with these circled looking powder beads. (The name of it is Magic Milk Straw . It will come up if you search it up.) Which makes milk taste like chocolate milk. They have different kind of flavors too. Such as strawberry, banana, cookies & cream, vanilla and etc. These flavors come in straws and because its a straw we can use any kind of milk. (Btw we can use hot milk. To see more kinds of milk read paragraph 4 please.) ⬇ Alot of people say “milk” is unhealthy too! (according to Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) So instead of using “milk” we can use Soy milk, Almond milk, rice milk and lowfat milk. (Dr, Frank A. Oski at John Hopkins University agrees that “milk” is unhealthy). If we put the chocolate milk straw we can’t even taste the milk. So it doesn’t matter if you don’t like milk or any kind of milk. People say chocolate milk is the same things as sports drinks and coke. It is super different! Sport drinks have 14 grams of total carbohydrates. Carbohydrates isn’t bad for

you but if you have it a lot it gets really bad for you. Some kids Even adults get addicted to drinks like coke sport drinks etc. So many kids adults drink these things like twice a day. For example adults drink coffee a lot maybe like 3 to 4 times a day. So which one do you think is bad for you drinking chocolate milk 2 times a week or drinking soda, sport drinks etc 2 times a day. You pick. These are some reasons why we should sell chocolate milk at Tokyo International School. Thank you for your letter i hope you like mine and i will agree. Once again i say chocolate milk is very healthy some people will enjoy it. Thank you! Yours sincerely, Sairi Iida

Why Chocolate Milk Shouldn’t Be served At Schools

Dear Ms.Lorraine, T.I.S shouldn’t serve chocolate milk because it affects the health, the false nutrition and its banned in several schools, and Kids drink too much of it and kids and they will get addicted easily. We need to watch out for this so kids have a safe and healthy future. Chocolate milk affects the health because, one reason is, there is just too much sugar in it. For example, too much sugar can lead to diabetes, cramps and diarrhea. Also children consume about 1 7 cartoons each week. In addition, once a child consumes the sugar it will go straight to their stomach, but when extra sugar is added the sugar will turn to carbohydrate and fat. In some schools chocolate milk is banned. Another reason is that 11 schools in Oregon, USA banned chocolate milk. Now kids who drank white milk threw 27% to waste. For example, renegade lunch lady says. “ it works as a treat at homes, but does not belong to schools ” . Also the nutrition services for the boulder valley school in Louisville, Colorado says “ Chocolate milk is soda (dressed up) ” . In addition, drinking chocolate milk for 5 days each week is like drinking 180 cans of soda. Have you ever heard your mom say “ Drink all the milk so you can have strong bones!’’ . I am surprised because chocolate milk does not make you stronger but does make you fat. Chocolate milk contains 1% of vitamin A, 12% of vitamin D, 1% of Vitamin A, 11% of calcium, 1% of iron, 5% of vitamin B12, 0% of Vitamin B6 and 3% magnesium. Kids say “chocolate milk has no sugar at all” but that's also not true. Chocolate milk contains 1030 grams of sugar. If kids heard this they will say “ lets drink white milk instead of chocolate milk because chocolate milk is evil.” But is white milk healthy?

Finally the last reason is that all cows milk is unhealthy. One reason is that milk is not for us its for calves. Dr.Frank A. Oski says “Calves thrive on cow milk, cow milk is for calves” . For example calves grow pretty fast, so when children drink cows milk they speed up their growth by 2% 3%. Also drinking too much white milk can increase fracture risk. Try avoiding white milk because the milk can't protect your bones even in the future. So if I can’t drink cow milk what are the alternatives? In addition the alternatives you can drink drink are unsweetened almond milk. But if it to the thing you want you can try sweet rice milk, soy milk , coconut milk and many more. And thats why TIS shouldn’t serve chocolate milk. Even though chocolate milk is yummy its a evil to our body we should care for our body and our health. Please make the right choice so kids can live a strong and healthy live. Chocolate milk or no chocolate milk? Dear Lorraine, I have strong feelings that chocolate milk should be allowed in school and I will be telling you some of these reasons, one of the reasons is that chocolate milk contains vitamins another reason is that chocolate milk is basically white milk and the last reason is that chocolate milk helps you with your health no matter boy or girl. And it will make your future brighter. Research shows that chocolate milk is tasty it can also be healthy, chocolate milk has a lot of nutrients. It has important nutrients including protein, vitamin A, vitamin D and calcium also chocolate milk helps prevent you from cancer. This gives me an idea that chocolate milk can can prevent diseases. Another reason is that chocolate milk helps children drink more milk. It is still milk but has flavour in it, it doesn't really change anything even if its chocolate milk or white milk, chocolate milk has the same 9 essential nutrients as white milk and and a small amount of added sugar. This might be important because it helps kids to not drink too much sugary drinks. And last but not least chocolate milk helps young girls with their health and makes their hair gleaming and teeth shining, it also helps young boys grow muscles, this helps young boys and girls with their health, maybe its because chocolate milk helps you grow strong bones, but i agree that we should only have chocolate milk once in a week or maybe twice a week but not more. So this concludes to the end that we should have chocolate milk at school but not everyday. Remember that chocolate milk has vitamins and it is

good, chocolate milk remember helps you prevent from cancer. So please include chocolate milk in school for us to drink. Chocolate Milk Dear Lorraine, I think that chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International School. The first reason is that it has vitamins and minerals. The second reason is that chocolate or other flavoured milks make children drink more milk. Third reason is that it makes children energetic and happy. Chocolate milk is good for you because it has a lot of vitamins like vitamin D ,vitamin A and vitamin B. Also, it contains several minerals such as calcium which is essential for bones strength and hardness. Moreover, one of the main nutritions that are found in the milk is protein which is important for cell’s reconstruction, building muscles, disease fighting, nails and hair health. A nutritionist, Melissa Dobbins says “According to studies chocolate and other flavoured milks have the same 9 essential nutrients as plain milk”. Chocolate milk is a healthy part of a young person’s diet. Mrs.Dobbins says “In fact, children who drink flavored milks are as healthy as plain milk drinkers”. Chocolate milk or other flavoured milks make children drink more milk. We all know that little kids love sweet things. So, chocolate milk is perfect because it is sweet and also healthy. Mrs.Dobbins says “Research shows that children who drink flavoured milks meet more of their nutrient needs”. Kids love the taste! Chocolate milk is good because it makes children happy and active. So, kids can work with more energy and happiness, which makes Kids love school more.Since some kids don’t do their work that quick at the end of school days, so, chocolate milk would help them get energy to work happily. Therefore, since chocolate milk makes children healthier, all kids should drink it!

Chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International School because children would get more of the essential vitamins, minerals and protein. This will lead to better health, more energy and stronger immunity system to fight illness. Also, most kids like chocolate milk because it tastes good. Therefore, it should be served at Tokyo International School. We want chocolate milk, please! Should We Have Chocolate Milk at Tokyo International School? Dear Lorraine, I think chocolate milk should not be served at Tokyo International School. First, milk is known to make your bones stronger, but research shows milk actually doesn’t make your bones stronger. Secondly, it’s healthier to drink leafy green vegetable juice than milk. Finally for my last reason, milk can make your body have diarrhea and other problems if you have too much sugar. One reason is that milk doesn’t actually make your bones stronger. I used to think that milk makes your bones stronger, but now I think milk doesn’t make your bone stronger. This is important because, “ Milk’s main selling point is calcium, and milkdrinking is touted for strong bones in children. However, clinical research shows that dairy products have little or no benefit for bones for bones. ” says the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). This means milk doesn’t make your bones stronger. Children can get calcium from lot’s of other foods like vegetable juice, green leafy vegetables, nuts, oranges, kidney beans, lima beans, whole grains, lentils, raisins, broccoli, kale, celery, tofu, and romaine lettuce. If you have too much milk, it can be bad for you. Dr. Frank A. Oski agrees, “Milk has been named for the cause of cramps and diarrhea in much of the world’s population, and the cause of multiple forms of allergy as well.” This means milk can make your body worse. Overall, just plain milk is bad for you. According to Dr. Frank A. Oski, “ Calves thrive or cow milk, cow milk is for calves. ” Milk doesn’t make your bones stronger, there are many other healthier drinks and food and finally,

it makes your body get worse. I strongly believe chocolate milk could be a special event like Pizza Friday, but not everyday. Why Tokyo International School should not serve chocolate milk at lunch time for free Dear Lorraine, I believe that Tokyo International School should not serve chocolate milk at lunch for free. Chocolate milk is very unhealthy and would not make children at school concentrate very well as there are much better things to give than a drink full of sugar. It is very important to be healthy and eat and drink nutritious things. I hope this text will be convincing, enjoy! First, chocolate milk is very unhealthy and according to Sugary Drinks Can Unhealthy, But Is Cows Milk Unhealthy Too? by Mike Ochs, a little carton of chocolate milk has up to 30 grams of sugar! According to the coca cola company that is more than a mini can of coke that contains about 12 grams of sugar, you won't see schools serving Coke, Secondly is that Dr. Frank A Oski the former director at the Department of Pediatrics at John Hopkins University agrees and says “ the fact is: drinking of cow milk has been linked to iron ¬ deficiency anemia in infants and children” he says “ it has been named as the cause of cramps and diarrhea in much of the worlds population and the cause of multiple allergies as well.” this is important because these are the main reasons for why TIS should not serve chocolate milk. but still factories sell chocolate milk to schools when especially they know it is not healthy. and my final reason is that I think there are much more healthy things to give, such as: fruits, vegetables, dry fruits and healthy sugar free drinks. I believe these foods are much more nutritious and good for your health. There is a debate of whether schools should or should not serve chocolate milk, remember chocolate milk has up to 12 grams of sugar and

it can cause allergies and there are much better things we could give. So remember health first! sincerely Jonathan B.S Bibliography Ochs, M. Sugary Drinks Can Unhealthy, But Is Cows Milk Unhealthy Too? Smith, J. chocolate milk: more harmful than helpful

Should we have chocolate milk at school? Dear: Lorraine I think chocolate milk should not be served at school because it has too much sugar, kids should not drink sugary drinks also it will not help kids concentrate at school and last but not least it will encourage kids to not drink it and be healthy for the future. Firstly, according to studies cow milk itself already contains 5 grams of sugar in it, adding the total of sugar in a chocolate it would approximately be 10 to 15 grams of sugar which is too much for kids to drink each and every day. Secondly, experts say that kids should not drink sugary drinks. If you drink too much chocolate milk it will not help you concentrate at school because of the sugar that it contains. This might be important because kids come to school to get the best out of their learning. And last but not least, if we don’t serve chocolate milk at school it will teach a lesson to the kids to not drink sugary drinks and make them healthy for the future. I am surprised because most parents let their kids drink sugary drinks without knowing how much sugar it contains. This makes me realize that people think chocolate milk contains vitamins but it does not contain the calcium that kids need. So this concludes to the end. Don’t drink too many sugary drinks. Now you probably know why we should not serve chocolate milk at school. Stay healthy! Sincerely, Lucia

CHOCOLATE MILK: GOOD OR BAD? Dear Lorraine, I think chocolate milk should not be served at Tokyo International School because people get about 7.5 litres of sugar each year from only chocolate milk. Chocolate milk can affect your health and may (slight chance) lead to other bad diseases like obesity and diabetes. You wouldn’t want that , would you? Chocolate milk is not good for the bones. Chocolate milk has long and short term effects on the body. Firstly, (flavoured or not) milk is not good for the bones. In 2009, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine(PCRM), wrote, “ Clinical research shows that dairy products have little or no benefit for the bones. ” This has changed my thinking because I thought that it was good for the bones. Secondly, according to the article, “ Sugary Drinks Can be Unhealthy, but Can Cows Milk be Unhealthy, too?” by Mike Ochs, New York City banned the sale of large sugary drinks. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was one who agreed with the ban because it let his citizen live healthier. This makes me realize chocolate milk is worse than I thought. Probably after a while kids will start to drink sodas. Lastly research shows the average kid gets about 7.5 litres of sugar each year from only chocolate milk or other flavoured milk. This amount of sugar easily leads to obesity and diabetes. You’ll get no nutrition from this sugar so don’t count on being healthy. This is Rip Esselstyn’s opinion. Esselstyn is the author of the dietary cookbook “ Engine 2 Diet” . Dr. Frank A. Oski, former director of the Department of Pediatrics at John Hopkins University said, “ Cows milk is for calves ”. He meant milk is

not for us, it is for calves. We are not calves, so don’t serve chocolate milk at Tokyo International School. Remember that chocolate milk can be really bad to the health and can lead to death if you drink too much. I would suggest something more like chocolate milk Thursday or any other day of the week. I seriously wouldn’t do it every day and charge money for the chocolate milk so kids would not be so happy to buy it. Go Chocolate Milk! Dear Lorraine, Chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International School because many nutrition experts say that believe it or not, chocolate milk is actually good for you. It has the same 9 essential nutrients as white milk, it can encourage kids to get more vitamins and it will make kids happy! Chocolate milk is, according to nutritionist Melissa Dobbins, nutrition in disguise. One reason chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International School is that research shows that chocolate milk has the same 9 essential nutrients as white milk. I think this is because chocolate milk is really just plain milk with something added to it. For example, one article by the dairy association of California states that if you drink one cup of chocolate milk per day, it will help strengthen your muscles and bones. Also, chocolate milk provides the nutrients kids need for good health. In addition, chocolate milk also helps kids get the three daily servings of dairy, recommended by dietary guidelines for Americans. I think this is important because only about 40% of children are getting three daily servings of dairy. Another reason chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International School is that kids love it so to encourage them to get more vitamins, they can just have a glass of chocolate milk. For example, research shows that children who drink flavored milk meet more of their nutrient needs. Also, they do not consume more added sugar, fat or calories. In addition, kids who drink flavored milk are not heavier than non milk drinkers. I think this is important because it will be as if we are drinking a normal cup of milk and it will not make us gain any extra weight.

Finally, the last reason that chocolate milk should be served at Tokyo International is that when a child is happy, they feel more independent and productive. If we serve chocolate milk at Tokyo International School, then the students would be happier to do their work. I think this is important because sometimes work can be hard and students need a little pushing. For example, another article by the dairy association of California states that when kids are happy they feel inspired. Also, according to the same article, kids that are inspired usually want to keep feeling that way. If chocolate milk makes them inspired then they will want to keep drinking it. In addition, if kids drink chocolate milk then they might stop drinking soda and other sugary drinks. I think this is important because soda is very unhealthy and chocolate milk is a much better choice. In conclusion, I would once again like to state that we should definitely serve chocolate milk at Tokyo International School It will encourage and nurture the students in so many ways. Should Tokyo International School Serve Chocolate Milk? Dear Lorraine, I strongly think that Tokyo International School should not serve chocolate milk because it is absolutely not good for us. Also because it has way too much sugar especially if you drink everyday you will have enough sugar to make yourself hyper, and my last reason is that it can cause many different types of diseases, read on to find out more about chocolate milk and if it is healthy or not. One reason is that most of the kids will rush to get the chocolate milk and the result will be that someone will get hurt if they bump into someone. Further more someone in the school may be allergic to chocolate and he never knows it is chocolate so he tries it and then he reacts to the allergy straight away. “Chocolate milk is soda [dressed up],” stated the selfproclaimed renegade lunch lady. “It works as a treat in homes but it does not belong in school’s” . So that is why I think it should not be served in Tokyo International School, and also soda is not allowed to be served in school. Another reason is that chocolate milk contains a lot of sugar. One small carton of sugar milk contains approximately 30 grams of sugar, that is more than a can of soda! Thus, a small container of chocolate milk has approximately 20% more sugar than most of the soda’s. According to Jamie Oliver’s website, “When kids drink chocolate and strawberry milk every day at school, they’re getting nearly two gallons of extra sugar each year, that is really bad for their health” . This makes me realize that chocolate milk has enough sugar to make someone hyper, if you drink every day. That is why I think chocolate milk should not be served in school. Finally, the last reason is that chocolate milk produces many diseases. Dr. Frank A. Oski says, “Chocolate milk has been named as the cause of cramps, diarrhea, heart attacks, and cancer in much of the worlds population, and the cause of multiple forms of allergy as well” . I am surprised because I chocolate milk has milk and I have always drank milk

because I thought it was good for you but as a result of all this I know now that milk and chocolate milk is bad for you. In conclusion, all the evidence that I read is why I think chocolate milk should not be served in school. Why Chocolate Milk Should Not Be Served In School. Dear Lorraine, I think chocolate milk is really unhealthy and should not be served in schools because it has a lot of extra sugar, it could cause deadly diseases and kids drink too much of it. Firstly chocolate milk has large amounts of extra sugar, research has shown that in a small carton of chocolate milk has 30 grams of sugar Research has also proven that chocolate milk has 20 %more sugar than coke. A researcher called Tom Llamas states” Drinking chocolate milk 5 days every week is equal to drinking 180 cans of soda ”This makes me realize that chocolate milk is really bad for you. Secondly drinking chocolate milk not only increases your sugar intake,it also could lead to deadly diseases. It could cause high levels of cholesterol, standard fat, cramps and more in the short term. If you're looking at the longterm consequences you will have obesity, diabetes, and research have proven that it is also the cause of multiple forms of allergies as well. This is important because there is growing amounts of children getting obesity every year. Thirdly kids don’t know when to stop drinking chocolate milk. They don’t care about the longterm consequences. They too much of it every day and because of it kids get almost 2 gallons of sugar every year. Some people might say that chocolate milk has all the vitamins white milk has but plain milk is as bad as chocolate milk and as Dr.Oski says “ Calves thrive on cow milk.Cow milk is for calves ”

As you can see chocolate milk has really bad effects on children and adults,it could lead to various sorts of health problems. I hope my reasons have proven why chocolate milk should not be served in school. Sincerely Sijie Yan

Should T.I.S. Serve Free Chocolate Milk? Dear Lorraine, I think that chocolate milk should not be served at Tokyo International School because it is nasty and very bad for our health. Here are some reasons why chocolate milk should not be served at Tokyo International School. Firstly, it contains lots of sugar. Secondly, it can cause deadly diseases and you can pass away. My last reason is, that it gives you fat and it has no benefit for bones. One reason is that chocolate milk contains more than 30 grams of sugar . This is more than a mini can of soda. The New York City Board of Health banned large sugary drinks due to the amount of sugar it contains. According to Rip Esselstyn, “These sugars have no nutritional value, and any excess sugar is converted into useless fat.” This must have meant that, drinking drinks with big amount of sugar has no nutritional and just gives you useless fat. There are lots of people who passed away with such diseases. Such as, cancer, heart attack, and diarrhoea. Jamie Oliver, a food lover and activist said, “When kids drinks chocolate and strawberry milk everyday, they’re getting nearly two gallons of sugar each year.” It can also cause children to get multiple forms of allergy. Maybe it’s because taking too much sugar will stop the blood running in the blood vessel and this will cause heart attack. Firstly, children and adults could get addicted to chocolate milk and drink 10 or 15 cartons of chocolate milk, a week at school.” It’s an out of control problem ,” says investigator reporter, Chloe Baker, who interviewed Australian schools. Secondly, is that chocolate milk has, approximately 30 grams of sugar. That is more than a soda can!” And also according to the coca cola company, a can of coke only has 25 grams of sugar ”!That shows that chocolate milk has more sugar than a can of coke. Thirdly, is that a small container of chocolate milk, has 20% more sugar than a soda can. They would be jumping all over the place like crazy people! Chocolate Milk at T.I.S: Good or Bad? Dear Lorraine, Research shows any sugar is converted into fat. However too much sugar can lead to other problems such as diabetes. Chocolate milk, even plain milk, contains highamount of sugar: plain milk has about 12g of sugar, chocolate milk contains almost 30g. I strongly believe chocolate milk should not be served at T.I.S. It’s unhealthy, for calves, and can lead to other health problems. One reason is that it’s not healthy. Flavored milk contains almost 30g of sugar and they can harm your body. In fact, it doesn’t have much calcium in it, neither it makes your bones stronger and the main selling point of milk is to make your bones stronger and to get calcium. To get calcium, you can get from a lot of other calciumrich foods, for example: oranges, raisins, broccoli. Another reason is that it’s not for us. According to Dr. Oski, “Calves thrive on milk. Cow milk is for calves,” . For example, when a zoo keeper brings cow milk to growing up calves, they thrive on them. “It’s pretty much only with breakfast cereal that any kid would choose white milk,” says Mrs. Rally, local school cafeteria. Finally, it can lead you to other health problems, which is much more worse than just getting fat. Diabetes, a health problem you can get by having too much sugar, was the 7th leading cause of death in United States. But not only that, there are more problems you can get. In conclusion, chocolate milk is bad for children and so T.I.S should ban it from the school like how other school did. It’s unhealthy and contains a lot of sugar which can make you overweight. Do you think serving chocolate milk is a good idea? Dear Lorraine, I think serving chocolate milk in lunch for free in TIS is a bad idea. One reason is that if you drink chocolate milk everyday, you’re nearly getting 2 GALLONS OF SUGAR each year. Well, my top 3 reason is that it is unhealthy, you get addicted to it, and finally, if you drink too much chocolate milk, you get diarrhea. Chocolate milk is unhealthy, but people might think it’s healthy. Then, Let’s say “Milk” is healthy. But do you know why it’s so tasty. It’s because you put a lot of butter and sugar in it. So even milk has lots of nutrients, Chocolate destroys it. According to Jamie Oliver, a food lover activist, Chocolate milk also has an “Skyhigh Sugar content”. One tiny carton of chocolate milk has approximately 30 grams of sugar. That is more than a coke. According to the cocacola company, a mini can of coca cola contains 7.5 fluid ounces of soda, has only 25 grams of sugar. But you never see schools giving out coke, do you? Since chocolate milk is so tasty, you sometimes just want to eat chocolate milk all the time. That is called “Getting addicted to it”. Once you get addicted to it, you can’t stop and you don’t want to stop. So you shouldn’t drink chocolate milk from the first time. “ Cow’s milk already has some sugar in it, about 12 grams of sugar. Flavoured milk can contain up to 30 grams of sugar. These sugars have no nutritional value” says Rip Esselstyn, firefighter, triathlete and author of a dietary cookbook, the engine 2 diet. “Not only can simple sugars contribute to obesity,” Esselstyn says, but also “ too much of them can lead to other health problems, such as diabetes.”

My final reason is that Chocolate milk is very evil. It pretends to taste good, then makes the person sick. Some schools in LA used to serve chocolate milk and now, it is banned in LA. This is why I believe Chocolate milk shouldn’t be served at lunch in Tokyo International School. Is Chocolate Milk Good for you? Dear Lorraine, I am going to explain to you as to why chocolate milk should not be served in Tokyo International School for free. My reasons are that it has a high level of sugar, secondly a low level of goodness and lastly, long term effects that can ruin your health. Now I am going to start. Chocolate milk has a high amount of sugar, and since it is for free children and adults drink more of the sugary sweetness more often than at home chocolate milk has at least 30 grams of sugar and according to the coca cola company a can of coke only has 25 grams of sugar which has 20 percent less sugar than chocolate milk. In Jamie Oliver’s website it says “When kids kids drink chocolate milk at school they are getting nearly two gallons of sugar a year.” Because of this it makes children and adults gain more weight than they are supposed to. The physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine wrote “Milk main selling point is calcium but it is true that milk and other dairy products have little and no benefit for strong bones.” So that actually means that chocolate milk has no nutrients in it but it is “a soda in disguise” says a lunch lady. Research says that you could get calcium from other types of foods with more nutritional value such as tofu, celery, kale, broccoli, raisins, soybeans, cabbage, leafy greens and also much much more! “ Chocolate milk has been known to cause cramps diarrhea and multiple forms of allergy all around the world.” say Dr Frank.A.Oski. Milk and chocolate milk also has long and short term effects on health. for short terms, chocolate milk can give you very high levels of cholesterol and saturated fat that can lead to obesity and diabetes. but long can lead to heart disease and cancer.

I think that drinking chocolate milk is not necessary and that not drinking chocolate milk will help balance our health in Tokyo International School and give a healthier lifestyle. Now you understand how bad chocolate milk is and how dangerous drinking it for free is. So please make the right choice for Tokyo International School.
