DESIGN THESIS : PROPOSED ISLAMIC PRIMARY SCHOOL; DERIVATION OF QURAN & HADITH INTO DESIGN.

INTRODUCTION

Early education is very important in shaping a muslim in every human being. From the very early beginning, Islam was founded on the basis of the knowledge. The very first ayah revealed in the QURAN Chapter No 96 (Surah al- Alaq). Man’s unique ability to transmit, by means of written records, his thoughts, experiences and insights from individual to individual, from generation to generation, and from one cultural environment to another endows all human knowledge with a cumulative character; and since, thanks to this God-given ability, every human being partakes, in one way or another, in mankind’s continuous accumulation of knowledge, man is spoken of as being “taught by God” things which the single individual does not - and, indeed, cannot - know by himself.

Muslims in Malaysia now face a lot of setbacks in life, such as, disunity in which resulting oppression with other problems and crisis. (Engku Ahmad Zaki Engku Alwi, 2007)

The Prophet Muhammad (s) said: “Every one of your (people) is responsible, and everyone is responsible for whatever falls under his responsibility. A man is like a shepherd of his own family, and he is responsible for them” (Bukhari and Muslim).

Negligence and carelessness of their own accord.

Sheikh Muhammad Qutb (1991, 178202) reveals that the exact cause of the weaknesses of muslims is in fact a divine punishment meted out to muslims.

Muslim fail to observe islam as the reality of contemporary life

This is consistent with the quran in surah Taha, verse 124 which means : “and whoever turns away from remembrance of Me, his life will be a narrow life, and I will raise him on the day of resurrection blind.”

TRANSPARENCY - School as MEDIUM to OBSERVE. 1. Observation play an important role for children’s brain development. 2. Surah an - Nahl talks about the important role of eyes in brain’s growth.

And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful (An-Nahl 16:78) The true way of expressing one’s gratitude for having eyes and ears, is the acquisition of knowledge, for the verse, at first, says that you did not know; it was Allah Who gave you eyes and ears to thank; that is, to devote your life to learning.
