Organizational Skills To work under pressure and with targets. To solve problems. By working on Taller Capital Studio I learnt how to process a lot of information and to try many methods to solve problems effectively. To generate strategies and organization of team works During the final year of university, I collaborated in a group of eight students to develop a master urban¬ plan for Zumpango District. A priority was to clarify ideas and generate a work plan. I generated a series of discussion sessions that concluded on the three main regional strategies which also were the basis for the district strategies. Leadership, organization of team works — Persistence Initiative and organization of the lecture: “Ecologic living: PET Houses” November 2010. Theory of Architecture Department, UNAM.

NEW HEART FOR BENESOV
The Hanson Studio focuses on the sensitive process of urban development and landscape projects. The studio takes as its guiding thread the sense of location and the link between the citizens and the city itself. The intervention area was the city of Benesov, located in the central Bohemian region, 40 km far from Prague, Czech Republic. The task was to boost the city's touristic features, and to strengthen the existing public space. Founded in the 11th century, the city contains many historical elements, specially from the 13th century: Two kilometres west there is the Konopiste Castle (built in 1280 under Archduke Franz Ferdinand), St. Nikola Church, the ruins of an ancient cathedral, and a Jewish Cemetery. This project proposal consists of a link corridor that binds together the historical elements of the city. The point view that related most of these architectonic elements was blocked by the construction of the Karlov Cultural Centre in 2001. Now this building is no longer used, but it still has the potential to become part of the public space.

6 The concept was to work about the idea of breaking through a building to create connection. The pavilion defines the empty space. This emptiness flows around the abandoned building and generates the public space program. The purpose of the pavilion is to remind and to revaluate the town's historical spaces by gettinga clear reading of the urban spaces. People walking through the Karlov Park will be able to see again the St. Nicola Church and the Klaster Ruins.
1. Oldest existing building in Benesov: The St. Nicola Church in Karlov Hill from the second part of the 13th century. 2. The ruins from the Church of Assumption of Virgin Maria from the 13th century which was burnt down by the Hussites in 1430. 3. The old Jewish Cementery with the oldest tombstone from 1687. 4.Kulturny Centrum Karlov. 5. Pedestrian passage that links the main square with the Kulturny Centrum Karlov. 6. Benesov main square.

The ground-level visual connection is among St. Nikola church in the Karlov Hill, the Klaster ruins, and the Jewish Cemetery through a passage that pierces the abandoned cultural centre building. As a consequence of the opening, this edifice could be reactivated, by having mixed uses: theatre, cafeteria, restaurant and shops. This public corridor starts with a small square; then, it goes through the Karlov Theatre, which becomes a semi openair theatre and ends in a footbridge that leads you to a viewpoint that frames the Jewish cemetery. Then an upper-level viewpoint on the top of the abandoned building relates the cultural centre by itself with the Konopiste Castle and the main square of the city.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION HYP Location:Cheng Du, Sichuan Valley, China. Status: Project Year: 2015 Type of Work: Professional Team Members: Arq. Javier Rabadan Arq. Alejandra Ramos Galvez
This international competition topic is: Transformation: Place, Tradition and Modernism. The project comprised four sites, each measuring 66x66m, arranged in a windmill fashion around a square. On the four sites, buildings with different functions were to be designed: a Library, an Auditorium, a Research Section and a Building for Architectural Department. Cheng Du is the 5th most-populous city in western China with 14 million inhabitants. The city is crossed from north to south by the Jing Jang River and is designed inside 3 concentric rings. The plan was developed in teamwork. Particularly, I was in charge of defining the urban strategies that will establish the relation between the city and the building. We all collaborated in the design process contributing ideas and making models. The project is located just in the cross point between the last city ring and the river, with three main intentions: 1_To guide the future urban development to the south by having a second development hub. 2_To make the building work as a connection among the two riversides, the river and a meander. 3_ To complete an urban corridor which starts with the new Ocean Park Station and ends with an urban central park.
15
URBAN SCALE STRATEGIES
NORTH-SOUTH AND EAST-WEST AXIS
1_URBAN STRATEGY : To connect the project with the old city town and the current educational district, through a pedestrian, public transport and bike-friendly corridor along the Jing Jang river.
2_URBAN STRATEGY : This corridor continues to the south with the intention of leading the future city growth.
MASTER PLAN STARTEGIES
CURRENT SCHEME The location of this project is just between the two sides of the Jingjang River, touching also a meander .
URBAN CONECTION STRATEGY: We took a section of the outer highway ring to connect the reserved green areas with the gutters located at both sides of the river making a public space belt.
WATER AND AIR PURIFICATION SCHEME : The water axis will work as a cleaning system using wetlands and the existing sewage treatment plant, as well as the east-west axis will do cleaning the air. Contributing to the mitigation of CO2 emissions a complete System of filters is proposed as well as pedestrian and alternative transport system path, with the perspective of opening the infrastructure, making it visible and enjoyable.
GREEN AND PEDESTRIAN CONNECTIONS: The campus is also planned to work as a public activity centre always linked with the context by proposing an extended green network which will boost the pedestrian activity.

West View of the proposal.
The scheme was the result of dividing the given 66x66m site into six in order to get a 11x11 basic and more flexible unit which repeats around a circular path to relate both sides of the river with the meander in-between. The light became an important aspect to shape the building. Three gaps mark the water flow of the river and allow clear views to the city. The volume was sectioned into three parts to leave the middle area free as an open-air corridor. The other two sections house the architectonic program, letting free and open areas have some gardens among the closed spaces. The design took into account the traditional Chinese architecture and the materials available, mixing them with modern ones. The land spaces around will form part of a wetland system to help the river recover its vitality and providing useful areas to research programmes.

FUTURE GROWTH SCHEME
The proposal considered the architecture and the users' needs as not static, they change with the time, thus the design must respond to these changes. Following this statement, the scheme can hold two more rings for future extension of the university. According to this project it can be transformed the current urban border. Could be the beginning of a new wave of urban-architecture where the buildings have urban use beyond the architectonical one. We must have in mind the future we aim for, a utopia if you will, where people and city are the centre. The city is still the best place to live in. ZUMPANGO MASTER PLAN Location: Zumpango, México Status: Project Year: 2015 Type of Work: Academic Professors: MUD Loreta Castro Reguera Mancera MUD Elena Tudela Rivadereyna Team work : Arq. Alejandra Ramos Galvez Arq. Eduardo Pesado Santiago
The Hydric-Urban Studio focuses on developing projects all around the basin of the Valley of Mexico with the perspective of generating a Regional master plan which reorganizes the process to supply clean water and cast wastewater to Mexico City. With that in mind, the 2014-2015 edition was about to rethink one of the last traces of the Texcoco Lake. All the research analysis, synthesis and design was developed as the work of a team integrated by eight undergraduate students of architecture and urbanism. We all worked to generate the urban schemes, as well as to get information from GIS and many other national data sources. With this, the Zumpango Master Plan was materialized. Zumpango, Xaltocan, Xochimilco, Chalco and Texcoco were a five-lake system inside the endorreic basin of Mexico Valley. After the Spanish Conquest the lake was dried to allow for urban growth. Nowadays, the Metropolitan Area of México City has a population of 20,116, 842 inhabitants. The Cuautitlán-Pachuca aquifer supplies 55% of the clean water to Mexico City, but from the 536.6 hm3 extracted each year, just 351 hm3 are seep again giving as result a deficiency of 194.97 hm3.
Valle de Ixmilquipan
Zumpango district is located north of the country's capital, between two industrial areas, Huehuetoca and Tizayuca, both outstanding due to their connection with regional highways: Mexico-Pachuca and México-Querétaro.
Chapatongo
After 1990, huge housing areas were built in districts named "Bicentennial Cities" taking advantage of the agricultural crisis, which forced local farmers to sell their land at very low prices. Now, all this new housing areas are mostly abandoned because their lack of public services, urban equipment, transport system and work areas.

Furthermore, it is calculated that, in 20 years, Mexico City will absorb the Zumpango district, as it had happened before with other near urban areas.

REGIONAL SYNTHESIS Infrastructure: the Avenidas River crosses Zumpango from east to west. At the middle of this century its course was altered to become part of the drainage system of the district. The TEO, TEP, EC and the Great Canal send the wastewater to Atononilco, a water recycling plant that is on the way of being constructed; meanwhile, the water is sent to regulatory storage reservoirs. Zumpango Lake is one of these reservoirs now. Studies done by The National Water Commission indicate that the Zumpango lake water is highly contaminated, with no oxygen. Working: Three main working hubs surround Zumpango — Tizayuca, Huehuetoca and Cuatitlån Izcalli, all of them at least 45 minutes far. The city itself does not offer enough job opportunities to the inhabitants. Workers have to use around 45% of their salaries to pay transport services. Dwelling: The social housing areas built after the 90's are located mostly around the Avenidas' Street. These areas are not directly connected with the city centre, nor are they provided with a transport system that is sufficient. Furthermore, the use of the land is only and exclusively as "single-family dwellings" which does not contribute to generate a sense of community.

REGIONAL STRATEGY
31
The stance was to integrate Zumpango into a regional plan, where all the districts that have a commercial relation can participate to generate a stronger economic hub that achieves a balance between Mexico City and this north part of the Metropolitan Area. With this in mind three strategies were developed: a_ Green Buffer Area that will control the urban growth of the capital, avoiding the absorption of Zumpango District, and if it creates at least this green belt, it will help differentiate the urban sprawls. b_Cities System where the participants will collaborate to make efficient the economic process. Each district will be evaluated and characterized and assigned part of the procedure. This does not mean that this character will limit the economic activity but will focus the development on this specific field. c_The Lake as a Development Booster. The water is a reason to settle a city; in this case, Zumpango Lake can be a tool to transform this entire region by reactivating the fish farming economy and the tourism. Moreover, it is needed to appreciate this water body as one of the last vestiges of the Great Texcoco Lake. Following this points, the district scale houses a series of projects that focus on giving alternatives to solve the three main conflicts: infrastructure, working and dwelling. To diversify the transport systems with cycle and pedestrians paths and public transport routes that interconnect all the areas around the district. The deficiency on infrastructure is closely related with the gathering of urban equipment, public services, and work hubs just in the town city. We plan to spread the services especially on the social housing areas to generate selfsufficient urban units. The reorganization of the working hubs is also needed to make commuting more efficient for the population. The new industrial areas planned must be located as near as possible to the regional highways and to the related areas. For instance, the trash recycling industry needs to be close to the landfills. The current abandon rate in dwelling developments is clearly related to the limitation of land use. A programme to allow commerce, offices and workshops is a must. Furthermore, housing developments need to be planned for the , middle and long terms, with cheaper housing typologies and multi-family dwellings. This will help reduce high-rate leaving indices.

Social Housing in Mexico, as in many Latin American countries, is thought just as a large dwelling area, which results in desolated spaces with an endless series of façades. Just few people live in this places, because, primarily, they lack of basic public services and, furthermore, these areas are located far away from the working hubs. The first aim was to repopulate the social housing areas, but: How to make these developments habitable? How to convince someone to move there? These were the first questions. First of all, only incorporating some urban and security services into the dwelling areas cannot solve the problem. It has more to do with education strategies. All the recent social dwelling developments follow the same urban design: closed housing groups, from 100 to 300 houses each one, repeated along the lot. Paseo de los Sauces was the experimental working area. It has 9,580 houses and 39.8% of them are abandoned. Furthermore, there are planned 10,500 houses more to be building next year. By small interventionsthe status quo can be enhanced, even more if these strategies are chained all as part of a bigger plan. An educative network that promotes trades such as: carpentry, welding, tailoring or bakery as well as comfortable areas to study languages, to do homework’s or to have access to internet services could really boost the repopulation of the area. The house typology should also respond to this urban program with a multi-use area: commercial, studio or bedroom.

Current Dynamics Scheme
With just one of this closed group of houses working as a laboratory of urban revivification, this model can be applied in the other entire dwelling cell; this repeatable quality was the most important strength of the plan. Polygon B was chosen to serve as sample area to apply both strategies: an educative network and multiple land use prototypes. As a natural process of adaptation, inhabitants of the neighbourhood have made some informal changes related with the land use. These modifications stress not only the evidence of the basic needs they have, but also the pedestrian flows that are already used. Thus, two main parts of each "closed housing groups" can be distinguished: the outer ring, which is directly related with the street and houses all the informal land use changes (displayed as yellow rectangles), and the inner ring , just connected through one access with the outer side. It includes most of the abandoned land percentage. If we sum up the unused area and compare this part with the used one, we get an approximate ratio of 3:2. But what would happen if part of the abandoned area became public space?

To reach this goal, first the closed dwelling areas should be opened and the pedestrian activity on this new access boosted, by including urban programs, specially an educational one. In order to distribute strategically these educational hubs, a catalogue of abandoned areas was created, and the rest will be projected to respond effectively to a mixed land use scheme. In order to affect positively the current pedestrian flows, most of these new educational areas are located next to each further access and some of them inside the inner ring The proposed entrances abridge the distance among four sides of the "closed dwelling group". Moreover, the promotion of a mixed use of prototype and commercial ground floor will strengthen a public space character. This is the main point to break the closed inner ring.

The next step is to design the housing units that team up with the educational hubs and the new access strategy. All of these prototypes must respect the given area of 47.15m2. Two designs were developed: the first one was the result of the rotation of the current prototype. With this, the area of the façades increases and allows a multi-purposed space, which could work as bedroom, commercial office or studio. The backyard area also increased, changing the sense of this open space. Before, it was merely part of a ventilation system — now it is proposed to have habitable dimensions and thus be used as a terrace. It is quite common that basic housing units need to be extended. To consider these phenomena, a frame structure was included in the design, not only to facilitate the construction of the upper level but also to offer a reference that will guide the façades. The second housing proposal is an example of how to include "high density units" to generate variation in the urban landscape and to attack a different range of population. Thus, the prototype offers the same architectonic program as in the early design but includes a second housing unit on the upper and third level. What used to be a 47.15-m2 house with one chamber, now becomes a double dwelling unit, one with two bedrooms and the other with one bedroom. As reference for these strategies, the urban model took "the city centres". Most of them work effectively, concentrating urban services, commerce, housing and public space. And that is how these housing areas should work as well to offer a better quality of life.
