PARK IN PARK is a public infrastructure which is proposed to resolve the transportation and social issues in the historic hutong district near Baitasi, Beijing.

公园 中 的 停 车 空 间 ( P A R K IN PARK)是一项位于北京白塔寺附 近历史胡同地区的、旨在解决交通 与社 会 问 题 的 公 共 基 础 设 施 。

ACCESSIBILITIES

The three targets of the proposal are: Resolving parking chaos, Pedestrian Friendly Streets, and Provide suitable spaces for social activities. Advancing the popular idea of sharing bicycle, our proposal applies the idea of sharing not only bicycles, but also motor bikes with different additions and sharing cars.

方案的三个目标是:解决混乱的停 车、营造宜人的步行道以及提供适 宜的社会活动空间。在共享单车概 念的基础上,方案更进一步提出了 共享 摩 托 车 与 共 享 汽 车 的 想 法 。

The condition of the site is highly densified with the hutong buildings with relatively narrow paths with uncontrolled mixture of vehicles which results in the dangerous e nv i ro n m e n t fo r m a ny re s i d e n t s. I n addition, the site lacks spaces for safe social activities of various users groups such as children, students, families, and elders.

基地所面临的现状是:密集的胡同建 筑、狭窄的道路、缺乏控制的交通工具 令居民感到危险。另外,缺乏满足不同 人 群社会活动的安全空间。

In order to reach the targeted goals, our project took three strategies of switching of transportation models, connecting various parking/ charging stations throughout the site, and integration of park and parking. The main design proposal sits on the west edge of Baitasi hutong district which used to be a ground level park with streets full of

cars with unsmooth flow of circulation. The new proposals provides more efficient flow of circulation through connecting different vehicle stations and hutong entrances from people’s perspectives. PARK IN PARK also integrates parking, park and community serving spaces in a playful manner to avoid simply layering different functions.
