This project proposes to re-energizing current commercial dymamics of Baitasi hutong by implementing strategies in its main linear axis. The strategies include creating a central commerce hub, active facade, green pockets, re-propose spaces & temporary transformation.

通过在原有的主要商业轴线上实施 设计策略,激活白塔寺的商业活 力,营造混合多元的活力氛围。设 计策略包括培育商业节点、塑造积 极的建筑立面、设置绿色口袋公园 和重 新 定 义 空 间 及 多 样 化 用 途 。



After interviewing dozens of local business owners, we realized that the Baitasi area offers a variety of goods and services from private-owned and public- owned businesses. But, despite this variety the present commercial activity is on a steady decline. In order for the existing Baitasi commercial areas to compete with the current and growing economy of China, re-energizing the current commercial dynamics of the Baitasi Hutong is essential.

The White Pagoda area is home to many cultural treasures. The area is surrounded by the Xizhimen business district to the north, the Fuchengmen commercial area to the south, the Xidan and Xisi shopping districts on the east side. We aim to utilize local qualities and business owners as a starting point to develop a shared business platfor m spatially expressed through a curated, connected commercial corridor that links to surrounding commercial areas.

白塔寺胡同是许多文化瑰宝的所在地。 西直门商务区在其北侧,阜成门商业 区在其南侧,西单和西四购物区在其东 侧。 我们致力于利用当地特色和商业运营的 作为发展共享商业平分的起点,通过一 条培育而成的、联系周边商业地区的商 业 走廊得以实施。

To attract customers from different distriots, five specific nodes are designed for local business promotion and recreative space revitalization. This linar business corridor will attract potential customers to Baitasi business center if the proposal works.
