Introduction Sharing Economy WHAT IS SHARING? Sharing is a trend and an exercise that one contributes his resources or services and receives the information that he required in various manners. There are three types of sharing: 1. Zero-sum sharing (physical form of sharing) which means sharing with limited and physical resources such as spaces or facilities; 2. Non-zero sum sharing (a nonphysical form of sharing) such as ideas and knowledge; 3. The combination of both zero-sum and non-zero sum sharing, which is the most common and complicated one, it is also the sharing system in our proposal.

Sharing Leisure WHAT IS LEISURE? In general, leisure means ‘the use of free time for enjoyment’. However, the definition of leisure activities varies from different group of users. For instance, running around the park is fun for kids while some elderly enjoy gardening. Leisure is slowly disappearing in our busy and stressful lifestyle, especially when technology is involved but no matter what, we believe that we as a human being will not live without social interactions with the others. We see leisure as play, having fun and interact with the others and make you feel happy. Play is not only for kids but for everyone. On the other hand, we are often in the state of exploring and experimenting while playing, and this is exactly what a designer do during the design process. Therefore, play is also the best inspiration for creativity.

Concept 751 D-Park 751 is a place where fashion, creativity and innovation meet. There are a lot of famous designers, musicians and artist gather in 751. Thus the questions we raised are – how do we share leisure in such a space? What is leisure or play for these creativity groups of people? Hence, we are proposing a series of play into this creative ground - a CREATIVE PLAY-GROUND. We aim to extract creativity from both owner and users through physical and non-physical sharing leisure activities: sharing art, sharing experience, sharing food and sharing recreation.

Phase 1 751 D-Street This proposal of sharing leisure focuses on this horizontal axis which links from the west, also the boundary with 798 to the east end of 751. Through our site study, this horizontal axis has great potential to be the first phase of development for the whole site. This is because it is the center of the 751 plot and this axis is the main pedestrian access linking 751 and 798. We think that this axis is important to emphasize the identity and characteristic of 751. However, this axis is currently lack of its characters and not pedestrian friendly.

We aim to revitalize the whole axis; we first identified three nodes on this axis with three types of sharing leisure programs: 1. the creative playground & gallery as introduction; 2. the kitchen at the junction of horizontal and vertical axis as the gathering point; 3. the design junction which act as a summary of 751. 5

[PHASE 1a]

751 Gallery & Creative Playground 751 Gallery & Creative Playground is located at the center of 751 D-Park, it consists of 4 spaces including the open plaza, the void hall, the history gallery, and car-park that are replacing Zhengdong group existing car park. The project is focusing on three user groups which are office worker that works on weekday’s basis, visitors that visit on the weekend, and designer who wish to showcase their work. Together they share the same volume and ground with different functions. As leisure is very depending to the different user groups and each of the user group happens on site on different time, the plaza ground is design with a vertical rotating system which allows constant flexibility for the change the leisure in an instant.

[PHASE 1b]

The Kitchen The kitchen is located at the junction of the vertical and horizontal axis, signifying the gathering and center point of the users and sites. The idea of revamping this node includes revitalizing the back lane by removing the existing building behind, turning the underused back lane into an open plaza linking the industrial factory remains at the south as well as the proposed creative plaza at the west. The typical kitchen works in 3 different formats: 1. The common kitchen; 2. The ‘corridor’ kitchen; 3. In the neighborhood, The concept of sharing space or food has always existed, however the current phenomenon where people have slowly replaced the kitchen with restaurant, the cooking stage has been skipped. The kitchen that we are proposing aims to restore the missing part encourage people to create things together and share happiness as one of the leisure. 9

[Phase 1c]

Designer Junction 751 “Designer Junction is the third important node of our first phase proposal. It located on the west side of the 3d digital museum. The existing building blocks around the center are designer studios, film making factory, fashion studio, and the Audi office tower. We propose four new volumes extended from the existing runs for four sharing programs which namely are sharing art, sharing product, sharing closet and VR automobile showroom. Designers, fashion staffs and filmmakers can use the new spaces to host some lecture to show their design during some event dates. For example, the sharing closet will provide space for the public and designers to exchange or rent their clothes. In general, 751 owner will get more reputation and profit, designers will get more brand exposure, and the public will get fun and knowledge. 11
