TherecoveryoftheIndonesianandBali economiesislinkedtointernational economiccircumstances.Hopesfor economicrecoveryarechallengedbya globalgeneraleconomicslowdown,rising inflation,andgrowinguncertaintyinfinancial markets.DiahUtari,speakinginUbud,Bali, onSaturday,01October2022,added:“This (all)hasthepotentialtoaffectthepotential fordomesticandforeigntouristarrivals.”

foreigntouristsarrivinginBalitotaled1.1 milliontravelers,while2.7milliondomestic travelerscametotheIslandinthesame month.

“Withtherecoveryandrevivalofthe Balineseeconomy,thefinancialsector systemhasbeguntorevive,credithas beguntorecover,althoughthelevelof financingriskisquitehighasreflectedin currenthigh-interestrates,”Diahadded.

Separately,IndonesianFinanceMinisterSri Mulyanihasforecastthattheglobal economywillplungeintoarecessionin 2023.Mulyanisaidworldbanksareraising benchmarkinterestratestoreduce inflationarypressure.

Speakingatarecentpressconference, Mulyanisaidrisinginterestratesvirtually guaranteeaglobalrecessionwillcommence in2023.TheIndonesianFinanceMinister notedthatthe BankofEngland raised interestratesby200basispointsin2022.
