Plain yet sumptuous paper-backed silks and velvets together with a number of subtly repeating patterns and interesting textures create refined and elegant backdrops. They can also be used above and below rails in combination with our panoramic collections. Every fromental wallpaper is made to order with composition, colouring and techniques tailored to meet individual requirements. Architectural features are taken into account, ensuring every installation is truly unique.

Taking a decorative form to new heights of luxury, fromental pioneered the technique of embellishing wallpaper with hand-embroidery, using fine silk thread available in hundreds of colours.

organics travertine A brushed and layered pattern is created using washes of iridescent metallic paints and various pigments on paper-backed silk. The result is a shimmering texture which possesses an organic quality reminiscent of travertine stone but with a lustrous depth of colour. Available in 22 colourways, the grain can be painted either parallel or perpendicular to the panel length. Panels of travertine can be mounted either horizontally or vertically to produce different installation effects. ponti An homage to renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti, travertine panels are intercut to create this bold, dramatic wallcovering.

The brush strokes run horizontally to create a strong panelled effect. métier Imitating loosely woven organza, a silk background is brushed both vertically and horizontally in metallic paints.

geometrics babinda Asymmetrical crosses and lines in paint and embroidery makes this design visually arresting, yet delicate and subtle. stripes One of our most popular designs, the embroidered stripes are easily customisable, enabling the designer to complement the overall scheme of a room. Each stripe is made up of 10 strands of silk wound tightly and couched in place, available in 50 different background silk colours and over 900 thread colours. The frequency of stripes dictates the rhythm of the panoramic, producing an understated, elegant effect.

All fromental products are handmade using organic material. When applied to walls in their plain form, panelling is apparent due to the interplay of light and natural fibres. This is an innate, desirable aspect of the wallcoverings. plain silk A simple, classic look can be achieved by adorning walls with China’s finest silks. metal leaf Gold, silver, copper and aluminium leaf are guilded onto silk or paper. dupion silk A raw, open-textured, slub silk with a grain that runs horizontally across the panel.
