n February 10, 2018, Butch and I matched on Bumble. His bio said he was a baseball coach, so I messaged him asking where he coached. After talking for about a month, we decided to meet. I had to travel to Tahlequah from Fayetteville because he was busy coaching. My mom and friends thought I was crazy. When I got there I had to sit and wait (nervously) for the game to be over to meet him. We went to dinner and bowling with some of his friends. I was only supposed to stay one day, but ended up staying the whole weekend! July 8, 2019, Butch had to recruit at a baseball tournament in Seattle. We landed around 7pm at the airport and we didn’t have time to go to the hotel to change for dinner. I was wearing comfy clothes, but he wanted me to change into my nicer clothes so we could take a cute picture. I didn't ask questions and changed and did my makeup in the car. We took a few pictures of each other, then he asked me to face the skyline so he could take a picture from the back of me with the city in the background. When I turned around he was on one knee! I had no idea this was happening because he kept telling me it was going to be another year or two before we got engaged.

After the engagement, he told me he had two stipulations for the wedding. We needed to get married on June 6th (his grandparents and parents both got married on that day) and he would like the ceremony to be in a church. June 6th only fell on a Saturday in 2020 and 2026. It was about 10 months away, so I quickly started planning. Fast forward to June 2020, Covid was in full swing. Our church was only allowing up to 10 people for events, which wouldn’t include all of our family. So a week before the wedding we changed plans and moved the ceremony to Holland Barn, which we already had for our reception. It turned out beautifully being outside even though it was in the upper 90s. We were able to incorporate my golden retriever, Aspen, in our ceremony, which was very special. She was my dog of honor and walked down with my matron of honor. She was able to sit/lay down beside me during the ceremony. We also had a unique getaway car. My dad rented a Razorback Jeep. He is the head coach for the women’s basketball team at the U of A and I graduated from there, so it meant a lot. The best part is, we had 250+ people show up to celebrate with us!
