FSCI specializes in fire protection consulting for municipal building departments and fire departments throughout the country. We perform fire protection plan reviews for about 200 municipalities and fire departments as well as many private companies across the country. Pay Range – Depending On Qualifications: Hourly rate - $19.48 to $26.10 – Level 1 (non-exempt) Hourly rate - $24.09 to $30.74 – Level 2 (non-exempt) Certifications required Responsibilities: Perform plan reviews of fire alarms, automatic fire sprinklers, and special fire protection systems for code compliance with codes and standards Witness fire protection inspections for fire alarm, automatic fire sprinklers, and special fire protection systems Maintain professional, timely communication with customers to assure problem resolution Participate independently in client contact (attend meetings, accomplish both oral and written communications) Ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate attention to detail, meet deadlines, and provide high level of customer service. Perform other related duties as assigned All plan review work is performed at our office located in Elgin, IL and includes some travel to job sites within the immediate area. Education: High school diploma or equivalent Classes in fire technology or related degree program College degree preferred Experience Preferred: The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience performing fire protection plan review, inspection or design of fire alarm systems, automatic fire sprinklers, or special fire protection systems. NICET certification in fire protection (Automatic Sprinkler / Fire Alarm / Special Systems) preferred, other certifications will be considered. ICC or NFPA Fire Inspector and/or Plans Examiner certification. Strong knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes.
