Building/Plumbing Inspector City of Sycamore The City of Sycamore is seeking a Building Inspector with emphasis in Plumbing within the Building and Engineering Department. This position reports directly to the Director of Building and Engineering. This position is created and governed by City Code and City policies and shall comply with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations governing the position. This is a full-time position assigned to the Building and Engineering Department. The position of Building Inspector/Plumbing performs skilled, semi-skilled and general manual labor work in regards to plumbing and construction and other related duties, as assigned. Minimum qualifications required: Education: Ø High School graduation or equivalent is required. Experience: Ø Ø Ø

Municipal experience will receive special consideration. Six years of plumbing experience, including a general understanding of the building construction, electrical and mechanical trades. HVAC experience preferred but not required.

Certification And Licenses Required: Ø Illinois State Plumbing License. Ø The ability to obtain and maintain all required International Code Council (ICC) certifications within eighteen (18) months of employment. Ø Possession of a valid Class D State of Illinois Vehicle Operator’s license. Ø National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training. Courses: ICS-100 and ICS700 within three months of hire. This is non-exempt, AFSCME Local 3957, full-time position that requires a normal 40hour workweek. The starting annual salary is $56,620.00. The City of Sycamore offers a generous benefit package. Candidates must meet the 20-mile residency requirement.
