Program options at NWCC Social Service Worker (SSW) Certificate
Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma
This one-year program includes hands-on experience with a practicum placement. Graduates are prepared to work at entry-level jobs or to continue to diploma and degree levels of education.
To complete the Social Service Worker Diploma you must first complete the SSW Certificate. Our one year diploma includes a practicum.

Women’s Studies 102 and First Nations 101 or Anthro 111 & 112 is required for students considering transfer to UNBC Social Work Program. Program and course requirements are subject to change. Under the collaborative agreement between UNBC and Northwest Community College, students who have completed the Social Service Worker Diploma program are eligible to receive credit toward UNBC’s Bachelor of Social Work Degree, available at the University’s Terrace campus.
