Passover By The Sea At BNJC
Puttingthe EASE into Pesach
Friday 11 April –
Following the huge success of its inaugural Passover Programme last year, BNJC (Brighton & Hove Jewish Community Hub) is delighted to announce its 2025 dates and schedule. From guided community Seder nights, an onsite Synagogue and Mikvah, fully Kosher (KLBD) restaurant and Deli, to a bespoke programme of activities including Sussex excursions – there is something for everybody to ensure that Pesach by the Sea 2025 will not only be memorable but stress free.
Every part of the Passover preparations will be taken care of in advance for guests across all levels of observance –from additional cleaning to meal prep and Rabbinic led services to shopping. With the added reassurance of 24/7 security and a private underground car park – BNJC is the perfect place to enjoy family time without the added pressures of planning, prepping, cooking or constant cleaning. Leave the Matzah crumbs to the professionals while guests can take full advantage of fully catered meals under KLBD supervision as well as its very close proximity to the sea and all that the beautiful surrounds of the Sussex coastline and the South Downs countryside has to offer.
Contemporary and stylish accommodation is available to suit families large and small as well as for couples. For larger parties, BNJC has several stunning five-bedroom, fivebathroom mews houses with private gardens, in addition to modern and spacious two-bedroom, twobathroom apartments and penthouses - each with their own balcony and some with sea-views and of the South Downs.
All accommodation is fully Koshered for Pesach, with all the facilities and equipment needed for a cosy, observant and stress-free Yom Tov.
Each block also has its own Shabbat lift to ensure both accessibility as well as religious observance is made easy. Daily synagogue services will also run in the on-site Orthodox Shul.
Additionally, BNJC will organise and run a tailored made programme of on and off-site events and activities for all interests and ages. For little ones there is an onsite nursery for 0-5’s and for older children there is a ‘youth lounge’ teen hub hangout with gaming station and pool table plus special Yom Tov services for children of all ages. Families and adults interested in outdoor pursuits or the many tourist attractions Brighton has to offer will have a number of excursions to choose from, complete with Kosher for Passover packed lunches for a ‘matzah ramble’ by the seaside. There is also a workspace and an onsite gym available for those who wish to work or work out whilst away from home!
Conveniently located just one hour from London, and a short stroll from Brighton’s iconic beachfront, BNJC opened its doors in 2023 with the mission to revitalise Jewish life in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton & Hove.
Since then thousands of the UK Jewish Community have visited for a meal, a holiday stay or taken part in its year round cultural and events programme as well as attending High Holy Day
services.
Its ever popular, on-site restaurantdescribed recently by Valour Magazine as “Exceptional” - Novellino Brighton, is the only Kosher restaurant on the South Coast which has now launched the only Kosher Sunday Roast in the UK! Its fully stocked Kosher Deli sells a wide range of both dairy and meat products and very handy “dry goods” cupboard.
Both the Deli and the restaurant will close for the whole week prior to Passover to undergo an extensive clean, full preparations and a change of stock and dishes in time for the Brighton Passover by the Sea Community Programme to commence.
Rabbi Matt Marks, Head of Community Engagement at BNJC comments: “Pesach is a time when the kibbutz-like communal spirit of the BNJC reaches new heights. With the comfort and support of an organised programme but the intimate, warm feel of a community-centred festival complete with opportunities for arts and cultural indulgences. All our guests can stay, calm in the knowledge that they are never more than 15 minutes away from rolling green hills, crisp ocean waves, a home-style fully Kosher cooked meal or the next minyan.”

Guest Testimonial from Passover 2024: “We spent the most amazing Pesach at the BNJC in Hove. Without qualification, it is by far the best programme I have ever experienced. The inspirational and exceptional leadership and programming by Rabbis Andrew Shaw and Matt Marks was peerless. The general staff and personnel bent over backwards to accommodate everyone and did this with grace and warmth. Similarly so with Rabbi Rader and everyone at the Shul. I do not have enough superlatives to recommend staying here.”
