The first day of school, a bunch of people I knew suggested I joined this club because it was really fun and served a good purpose. I’m looking forward to the community events coming up soon! So far it’s been really fun and I’m excited to join again next year.

Member SPOTLIGHT Throughout the years, seeing how this club has grown, I’ve really loved seeing the progress in the members. I’m really excited! If I could tell any new members any advice, it would be to do as many events as possible. If I regret anything it would be not participating in as many services as I could have. Key Club really is what made my high school experience amazing!

FESTIVAL

“

Over the weekend I volunteered at the Asian Moon Harvest Festival! I helped many of the smaller kids around the event. My job was also to help at the arts and craft station. It was a great experience because I got to meet so many new people and celebrate the Moon Festival right here in Las Vegas! It made me feel happy and loved having so many people all together to celebrate like a family.

TRAINING CONFERENCE

SAMANTHA BOYER GRADE 10

RTC was an event held to show our spirit and to show what we’re about, what organizations we’re involved in, and the people our services are for. The whole day we participated in workshops held by LTGs and leaders at Kiwanis and Circle K. We also got to meet and connect with Key Club members from other clubs in the district! It was a great experience and I had such a great time. I’m glad I attended this year with...

NORTHWEST! Regional Training Conference! The point of RTC is to learn more about Key Club, why we’re a part of it, the Kiwanis Family, and the foundations of Key Club! The workshops were amazing and showed me a whole new side of Key Club that I never knew about. Throughout the entire day, we participated in so many spirit battles and volunteer projects that really showed what Key Club was about. I’m excited to go again next year!

REGIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE

2013

RTC as a Senior

RTC stands for Regional Training Conference, which all Key Clubs participate in. It’s a great way to promote leadership and it’s a great way to explain and show to general members what Key Club is all about. RTC is also a great opportunity to participate in service projects and meet people from all over the district! Aside from screaming my head off in spirit, we helped make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for homeless and at-risk-youth as well as making blankets for our troops. We also participated in so many spirit rallies that allowed us to show off all of our new cheers! The workshops we were involved in taught us so much, including the importance of professionalism and social networking. In the past, I’ve always taken it upon myself to lead other members in our group. However this year, being an officer, it was one of my duties. It was extremely sad because it was my last RTC, but I had so much fun and I’m glad I could go and experience it one last time!

Prior and after the walk, there are booths with free snacks and places to donate along with music and an overall fun and supportive atmosphere. Being a part of such an amazing cause makes you feel like you’re really making a difference. We’re all working toward a breast cancer free world one stride at a time!

FROM THE

Hey Hawks! Can you believe that we are already more than a month into this school year?! Time truly does fly! I hope you have enjoyed the first few weeks of school! I know it's been stressful for a lot of us and a lot of times even I find myself overwhelmed, but hang in there, BEElieve in yourself and make this a GOLDEN year! At RTC this year, we had a total of 107 members who attended! Thank you again for coming out and showing your spirit! I hope RTC has not only inspired you to continue serving your homes, schools and communities but has also taught you more about Key Club International and the reason why we serve! This year our goal as a club is to reach 9,000 service hours and raise $1,000 for the Eliminate Project to save 555 mothers and babies from Maternal Neonatal Tetanus. Together we can and we WILL make a difference in this world, one service hour at a time. Don't forget Key Club is YOUR GOLDEN TICKET! I wish you all a wonderful month filled with service, memories and fun! Stay GOLDEN! Sparkling with Service, Paula Castro President
