Hey Hawks! Summer is nearly over! With school nearly upon us, we should soon be looking towards the amazing school year that's coming up! For now, we have the Kiwanis District Convention and our Freshman Orientation! Unfortunately, I cannot attend because I am with family in Oakland, but don't worry I am still on top service hours! I have contacted some of the local Key Clubs and I will BEE aiding a carnival on the 14th. Besides that, buckle up and get ready for an awesome school year Hawks!

This newsletter is shorter than usual, only because summer is nearly over and there weren’t many service events our club could attend. However, within the first few months of the new school year, we’ll be busy with a bunch of fun service that new members will enjoy! I hope you all enjoy your last few weeks of summer, and I hope to see you all at our first Key Club meeting of the school year!

Jayden

ICON

(international convention) Victor Delacruz | President ICON is my latest and greatest Key Club Moment. This moment spans over the first week of July and I spent it with the district I'm proud to call home: CaliforniaNevada-Hawaii, Bees. We first toured the Peachy State of Georgia! From the Martin Luther King Memorial/Human Rights Museum to CNN Headquarters, in the tour alone, I definitely made memories that will last a lifetime. When ICON finally started, I met so many people from around the world! Even in Jamaica they have Key Clubbers as spirited as us! I was able to attend workshops to expand my Key Club knowledge and leadership skills, but my favorite event was the House of Delegates. There we were able to vote on proposed legislature as well as vote in the new International Board! I really do hope we get at least three members to ICON 2017 in San Antonia, Texas because this event was truly eye-opening, breathtaking, and the best thing I have done in a while.
