PRESIDENT

RTC 2017 was my first year as a moon and last year attending. This makes me sad whenever I think about it because being a part of this club is truly a blessing. I care for all you so much. I even cried a few times because I was worried not everyone was having fun or happy with the outcome. People know us as a club, but we know each other as a family. From my very first meeting as a general member to now running meetings as president, I have always loved this club. It's so incredible to believe that 130+ of us have come together to dedicate time to our club and community. Thank you to those, especially board and our advisor Ms. McKittrick, whom worked hard in making sure we all enjoyed RTC. I'm so proud of our success! We may not have won the division stick, but we placed top three in our division! This accomplishment was so amazing because this year the competition was at its peak. Your spirit and voices completely blew not only me but other schools away. There are no other key clubbers that I’d rather throw cough drops at. RTC was only one of our first accomplishments of this year and I can’t wait to see all the other amazing things we’ll do.

editor As my second year of Key Club commenced, I was ready for our club, my love for this club strengthened even more due to the impact of RTC, this year we gave it our all and I can’t ask for nothing more. RTC was one of the main events, but it was only the beginning to our club. Memories will still be made from all the events to come. As our club progresses throughout the year, our journey as a family will be long lived and the bond will only get stronger! Our voices could be heard from far and wide with the spirit that emerged from you all and I could not be any prouder for the club I serve! RTC is something I will never forget, and with two more years left for my RTC chapters, our club will only be stronger and filled with even more spirit.

Vice

President

Dear Northwest CTA Key Club, you have been my second home since my freshman year. I would have never thought that I would go from a shy, quiet little freshman to leading the club as a senior. From 40 to 140 members in a span of 4 years, the number never fails to make my jaw drop. Thank you for being such dedicated, hardworking members with beautiful personalities and sweet hearts. Through all the bumps in the road, I’m proud to say that we were able to overcome them and cheer as one big family. We wouldn't be the club we are today without the help of each and every one of you. We may have not won the Division 28 west spirit stick this year, but you were all champions in my heart. You each gave it your all and that's what matters to me. I’m truly honored to say I’m the vice president of this club. Whether it be your first or last time going to RTC, I hope you all enjoyed your experience. My last RTC is one I will never forget. Carry on the legacy for Class of 2018 at RTC next year Hawks!

Robby LaPak At Haunted Harvest it was a fantastic time! To be honest, managing our station was quite tiring and stressful, and I’m pretty sure the same goes for everyone. There were a lot of people waiting to play, and we needed to pace ourselves so that the people don’t get tired of waiting. While it was very tiring, I really enjoyed the experience of it all. It was nice to see everyone working their hardest, as well as the smiles on the little kids faces. In the end, we managed to survive and were treated by the event managers with some free pizza.

Damien Garcia Haunted harvest was super fun. It was amazing to see the kids run up to our booths in their costumes ready to play. Teaching the kids how to play the game was fun. At haunted harvest, our entire group oversaw running the carnival games. They were simple things like knocking down a stack of cans with bean bag, and there was what my friend and I ran, throwing a ball into a hole. I still had a fun experience seeing all my friends working very hard, as well as seeing the kids smile on their faces when they managed to shoot the ball into the whole.

Sheila Bibera My last RTC was amazing. As I got to do all these workshops with friends, I remembered that it was the last time I'm ever going to be able to be screaming chants through the hallways with a group, the last time I'll be spirit battling with the club against many schools, and just having that RTC hype up during the first couple weeks of October. The event was nothing but such a great RTC experience. From helping each other put face paint on, to hyping each other up for cheers, to being in little dance circles at the dance — I never felt happier during my last RTC. These may have been a couple of the "lasts", but I know they're going to be memories that I will look back in the future and just reminisce. Reppin' the Hawk City had been amazing, and as a member, I wish that all of the other general members who either just started or is close to be their last — Key Club is amazing. Just being surrounded around NWCTA's Key Club from the start of freshman year until now, I have such a close family bond with you guys. I know Key Club is going to go far soon. The dedication a lot of you guys, along with the love for the club, the club will go far.

Andrea Alcala My last RTC was unforgettable, from cheering with my best friends to meeting new faces. I’m sad this was my last one but it ended on a great note and it gives me hope for next year’s group. This RTC for me was all about service and doing RTC for a bigger cause- which I’m so glad we contribute to

Alyssa Watanabe / Junior This was my third RTC and let me tell you I was not disappointed with the turn out! I had so much fun going to the different workshops, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, and straining my voice at the spirit session. Seeing the turn out of our club this year at RTC made me smile from ear to ear and I’m excited to see how it will be next year!

Fayth Vega / Sophomore As my second year in Key Club commenced, I was hyped for RTC. It was heartwarming to see and hear all the spirit coming from all the schools, but especially mine! My second experience was so much fun and I was able to learn even more from last year too! The next two years, you’ll see me coming back to RTC ready again and ready to make more memories.

Ryan Foster / Sophomore To me, RTC is one of my favorite events from Key Club and I find it so fun and amazing. I was able to have fun with my friends and even see other schools get hyped as we share spirit across the region. It was fun to do all these cheers and be able to do it with what I call a family. From last year to my second year, RTC is something I always found amazing and I can’t wait for the next RTC as we come back with even more spirit.

Tyler Adaoag / Junior Overall, RTC was a great experience that really helped me to remember the reason why I joined Key Club. It was fun to go to all the different workshops and do the service events in them. It was also fun to see so many people, all in the same place, connected by their want to give back to the community.

Ivy Mae Fallejo This was my first RTC experience and it was so much better than expected. From getting to meet new people from different schools, the spirit battles in the hallways, going to many workshops featuring charities and fundraisers I could be involved in, and especially, getting to cheer with my friends was unforgettable. Going to RTC really opened my eyes to fall in love with key club and be more involved with helping my community. I am beyond looking forward to attending RTC next year!

Ingrid PerezMy first RTC experience was incredibly fun and enjoyable. I had so much fun with my friends and I was able to see other friends from other Key clubs as well. RTC is to learn about Key Club, leadership and other ways we can continue helping the community as well as howling school spirit. I would go to RTC again and I hope to be able to go again in future years.
