A big, friendly welcome awaits you! One of the best ways to get to know a place is through the eyes of someone who lives there. Kent Greeters are proud of their home and welcome visitors from all over the world.


What are Kent Greeters?  Passionate, friendly and enthusiastic volunteer residents

who want to share the area where they live with visitors to the county.  Non-profit making organisation run by volunteers and managed by Visit Kent. First UK member of the Global Greeter Network.  Funded by European cross border ‘Interreg’ Programme

How to meet a Greeter  A straightforward process via the website www.kentgreeters.co.uk  Visitor completes request form and can indicate special interests 5 days in advance of visit  The visitor will be contacted prior to arrival and the day before the Greet is to take place.  The Greet lasts approximately an hour and a half.  Both visitor and greeter completes feedback form.

How did Kent Greeters get started?  Assisted by Lynn Brookes, founder of the Big Apple Greeter in New York in 2007.  Successful pilots in Thanet and White Cliffs Country which rolled out to rest of Kent county.  First UK member of the Global Greeters Network  Local area Greeters in place in Kent districts
