Editor’s Note
Happy New Year! 2022 was a year of transitions. As we all moved through the various stages of Covid restrictions and pivoted (more times than seemed possible) around in-person school and distance learning, we learned a lot about our children and about ourselves. Many of us came to find that the schools or education systems that we had chosen for our kids were not quite the right fit.
As always, the January issue of NW Kids is the second School Open House Guide of the school year. Whether you are just beginning to consider the right school for your family or are thinking about a change, this is the place to start. Take a look, check out the websites of the schools that catch your eye, and get to a few Open House events or tours. From infancy through high school, you’ll find it all between these pages.
May 2023 treat you kindly and bring more positive transitions than stressful ones. We can’t wait to see you around town this year!
Cheers, Mary*We’re excited to be returning to OMSI for our annual Summer Camp Expo on April 22nd. Save the date!
NW Kids is published monthly by Miche Media, LLC. Every effort is made to ensure accuracy; sometimes we make errors. Please let us know when we do and accept our apologies. Printed locally; Please recycle.

Guiding Lights
by MatanGuiding lights
Matching the steady flow of notes
Erupting from the strings
Reality begins to dissipate
As my conscience floats to a different world Peace overtakes my mind and body
I forget my problems
I forget what matters
I float
The music creates an aura of being Spirits move
Some bolt quickly
Some sway slowly
Some are friends
Some are not known
Some have passions
Some hold nothing
The music stops
As do we
As reality returns
I feel free
