Cannabis plants of Southern Oregon. These are the true giants, the old growth of Cannabis, that started as clones or seeds popping last February and March in preparation for a long summer of sunshine and growth. We’ve refined our harvest issue over the years to only include full term Cannabis plants, those grown in a single season lasting months, not light deprived greenhouse plants. Don’t get me wrong...I personally love light dep greenhouse Cannabis, but there is something special about the full season process. For the farmers and the plants, the risk and love is evident, as both rush to finish their cycle before the weather turns sour. The best part about the harvest is the farmers who have worked all year to grow their crop. This is where pot meets traditional agriculture fully. Whether growing potatoes or Cannabis, a lot of energy, sweat and faith go into growing a yearly crop. Many of the farmers I spoke with personally talked of the stress and fear of weather, of bugs, and of staking a year’s income and livelihood on a plant that grows outdoor from June until October. It is a beautiful and humble process, and one that we are proud and excited to share with our readers. I encourage all our readers to look for a full term, sungrown outdoor product this year at the local pot shop and give it a try. Smoke a fatty of some terpy, beautiful outdoor-- and as you inhale be mindful of the fact that someone spent nine months growing that plant for you to enjoy. It’s a heady thought, and makes for a mindful and fun session that might have you wanting to grow your own outdoor giant next year! —Wes Abney

Washington state’s recreational marijuana industry was recently examined by Cannabis technology and market data company Headset. The company’s market analysis, based on September sales by participating Washington marijuana retailers, yielded some interesting insights. Millennials took the lead in buying weed, at 51 percent of total purchases. Generation X was at 34 percent, while Baby Boomers came in at 15 percent. Oregon To Begin Distributing $85 Million In Cannabis Taxes Legal marijuana is starting to pay off nicely for Oregon. The state is now distributing nearly $85 million in tax collected from legal pot sales, cite this information. Peru Legalizes Medical Marijuana The Peruvian Congress in October approved a bill legalizing medical marijuana, with 67 votes in favor, just five against, and three abstentions, the bill became law with support across political parties. Opioid Deaths Fell in Colorado AFTER MARIJUANA Legalization Opioid related deaths fell by more than 6 percent in Colorado in the two years since recreational Cannabis sales began, according to new research published in November’s edition of the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH). The findings suggest that Cannabis could be a valuable weapon in fighting the effects of America’s opioid epidemic, under which drug overdose deaths have tripled since 2000, reports Blair Miller of NewsChannel 5 Network. The study found that the 6.5 percent reduction in opioid deaths represents “a reversal” of a 14-year trend of increasing opioid deaths in Colorado. The use of Cannabis as an alternative to opioid painkillers — or as an “exit drug” for addicts — has received increasing attention in the past year. Meanwhile, the backward-facing Trump Administration, particularly Attorney General Jeff Sessions, continues to fight the fact that marijuana is helpful as an alternative medicine. Legalization of Cannabis in Colorado was associated with short-term reductions in opioid-related deaths, according to the study. As additional data become available, research should replicate these analyses in other states with legal recreational Cannabis.
The new study, published by researchers from the University of North Texas, University of Florida and Emory University, looked solely at Colorado’s recreational Cannabis program and its correlation with opioidrelated deaths. Researchers worked to strengthen their model by comparing Nevada and Colorado. Nevada legalized medicinal Cannabis shortly after Colorado, but voters didn’t legalize recreational marijuana until 2017, after the study had been completed. For the new study, researchers used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research (WONDER) to construct a chart of opioid-related deaths in each month, beginning in 2000. They then model-smoothed the average and compared the number of deaths at the end of 2013 to the number afterward, through 2015. Safety and Quality of Cannabis Products in the Age of Corruption Some people will say it doesn’t matter if a product is safe. Prices will start to become the stronger determining factor for consumers over quality. We are witnessing the same phenomenon in the burgeoning Oregon adult use Cannabis market. People today have less disposable income while dealing with higher costs of living, which means that all purchases are scrutinized for price rather than quality. This is okay in a market where the governing body regulates that product to ensure that even the cheapest products are safe for consumption. It’s hard to tell without hardcore scientific research, but personally I worry that just like with our food systems, the regulatory bodies over Cannabis can be corrupted to allow substandard, unsafe products to enter the market. When I discuss product safety with people, I often hear, “It wouldn’t be on the shelf if it wasn’t safe.” This is an assumption we make every day, but how common is it to also believe “I don’t trust the government very much.” Although it’s easy to lose hope in our government these days, I truly believe that with enough focus we could improve what’s been degraded by a half century of Milton Friedman’s greed based economics. I think we can all be united to work toward a better economic system than we have. For those of you who believe you can’t change something that complex, remember the reality we are living now was created and imposed by our pre-

decessors. We can always change our goals and direction as a nation. It’s hard to say exactly what needs to change, but I think the best start is to use the carrot. Incentivize small business development while focusing on closing loopholes constantly manipulated by large multi-nationals. They are inching ever closer to total monopoly. I believe Cannabis will help lead a new organic revolution for other types of agriculture and, on a less literal level, help evolve a fairer economic system. No politician is going to do this on their own, the weight of progressing these solutions falls on every one of us! Cannabis can act as a wonderful medicine to help us along the way, but we will have to do the heavy lifting. One of the most fundamental things you can do is take five minutes out of each week to call your representatives and let them know the future you want to see. It’s critical to go out and engage with society and not be afraid to discuss Cannabis in a reasonable manner. We have a responsibility as Cannabis users to stand up and let others know how the plant has helped us. Even with legal Cannabis sweeping across the nation, we still need to make sure we are doing the

social work to educate others about Cannabis and why it’s important for it to be accepted in society. The biggest issue facing us is economic stagnation combined with environmental degradation. Unfortunately, the two are inextricably linked. It doesn’t matter what the product is if people only have the money to afford the cheapest of everything. There will be a public health risk, making it harder for our society to progress. It wouldn’t be as big of a concern if the FDA seemed like it was on top of protecting us from potentially harmful products, but it doesn’t seem that way to me. Fifteen years after approving a product, the FDA will go back and admit that it might not be as safe as we thought. People may believe this is due to the incompetence of regulators, the truth is more likely due to corruption. Corruption can be both explicit, making contributions in exchange for something, or implicit, and politicians are constantly reminded who put them in office when favors are needed. We must put pressure on both regulators and producers. If you are a Cannabis cultivator, know that you are also critical to change. Please consider deeply what you feed and spray on your plants.

andrew sullivan a n d r e w s u l l i v a n i s a p o l i t i c a l p u n d i t . Which, in our modern times, means he’s an author, blogger and was once the editor of The New Republic. He’s been on almost every political talk show and news network in this country and beyond. Sullivan identifies as a conservative, with libertarian tendencies. He’s a major advocate for Cannabis legalization at the federal level, a stance that is unsurprisingly at odds with most of his fellow conservative peers. The majority of Republicans do not favor Cannabis legalization, in fact many want our nation to head in the opposite direction. So why is Andrew Sullivan an advocate? His health. Last month, Sullivan wrote an editorial published on New York Magazine’s Daily Intelligencer blog titled “Yes, I’m Dependent on Weed.” In the article, Sullivan credits Cannabis for ending his chronic insomnia and talks about how it has helped his appetite, which was affected by a cocktail of HIV medications. He wrote that he can’t quit using Cannabis because it has been so helpful at curbing his condition’s symptoms. Sullivan has consumed Cannabis daily since 2001 and has made the rounds as a keynote speaker at events such as the 2014 Cannabis Business Conference in Portland. Like most pundits, Sullivan has ruffled feathers from time to time, and is no stranger to controversial topics. During his tenure as editor with The New Republic, the magazine generated several high profile controversies. Sullivan is a champion of LGBT rights, the environment and, of course, Cannabis. In 2010, Sullivan published “The Cannabis Closet. First Hand Accounts of The Marijuana Mainstream.” His book contains a collection of testimonials about Cannabis use from main street America: responsible parents, straight-A students, corporate executives, unwinding suburbanites and people with health conditions. His book was published prior to any state’s recreational legalization and serves as a kind of prescient nod to Cannabis normalization, showcasing just how deeply acceptance for Cannabis truly runs in mainstream America.

FIRST CANNABIS EXPERIENCE? I was in the seventh grade and hanging out with my step sister who was visiting from Washington. I remember she had this cool blue glass pipe and some weed she brought from home. We snuck out one night… and when I got my first taste of that sweet cheeba… from that moment on I knew that I never wanted to be without Cannabis. Afterwards, we ended up sharing a 2-liter of Dr Pepper and three Chick-O-Sticks while trying to beat Bubble Bobble. I don’t think we made it passed the first level.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY AND WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB? I started at TreeHouse December 2014 — so almost three years now. For me, it’s the service aspect of the industry that’s meaningful. I love seeing Cannabis help enrich people’s lives; whether it’s treating an illness or just putting a smile on someone’s face.
HOW DO YOU HELP CUSTOMERS FIND THE BEST CANNABIS OR PRODUCTS FOR THEM?

For me, it’s a brain buzzing high that keeps me focused, without any raciness or anxiety. However, linalool, not usually a Dogwalker OG terpene, might be my favorite scent or taste. It’s sweet and floral with hints of berry. TreeHouse Collective is just about as old-school as it gets for Cannabis shops in Portland. TreeHouse Collective opened in January 2013 and has fostered relationships with some of the most respected growers, extractors, glass artists and Cannabis companies in Oregon. This place is one of the most dependable resources for quality product in Portland. Our Budtender of the Month has been with the shop for almost three years, one of the longest tenured budtenders in the Portland scene. He is well-versed in Cannabis effects, terpenes and lineage. His intelligent, yet approachable demeanor makes him one of the best we have encountered.
We are all advocates of the “entourage effect” at the shop. We feel that terpene and cannabinoid profiles are actually more representative of the total experience, and have more of an overall effect than just plain-old THC percentages. So we try to ask customers to use their nose when looking for a strain. I’ve found that strains that smell pleasant to a customer are typically a good fit for the effect they desire.
WHAT MAKES YOUR SHOP’S APPROACH DIFFERENT? Everybody at the TreeHouse is incredibly knowledgeable and has roots in the industry. We make ourselves available for conversation and try to cater to each customer’s needs by asking a few questions to find out how they might benefit from Cannabis. We understand that not all Cannabis experiences are the same, so we try to find the best option for you.
HOBBIES/INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF CANNABIS? I’m a vinyl collector. I have a decent library of records, maybe 500 or so. A perfect Saturday for me starts off with a coffee and a doobie, then spending the better half of the day flipping through and listening to records.

JEREMY JOHN ROBBINS ROLLING THROUGH LIFE’S PUNCHES AS A VOCAL PATIENT AND MEDICAL CANNABIS ADVOCATE Jeremy John Robbins is a soul force. In 2013, Robbins was my expert consult for an article about the need for ADA accessible medical dispensaries once HB 3460 passed. During that time, Robbins was a beacon of knowledge and helped guide ADA standards for dispensaries on disability. On top of his active community role, he is a champion of inspiring people with spinal cord injuries to grow their own medicine. Robbins never let his disability prevent his love of gardening, or accessing the healing attributes Cannabis provides. I was always amazed by the life Robbins lives, but I never fully knew his incredible backstory. On Oct. 3, 1999, a freak bicycle accident left Robbins paralyzed from the sternum down, and completely altered his life. The accident resulted in pinching his spine at multiple vertebrae and fully shattering his C6 vertebrae. Robbins was diagnosed as a quadriplegic. He was quickly ushered into emergency surgery that resulted in a spinal fusion. The surgery put Robbins in the intensive care for 10 days, but the neuropathy became woven into the fabric of his everyday life. “I broke my neck on a bicycle, with my dog, two blocks from my house on a Sunday night,” he said. “I experience uncontrolled muscle spasms and a lot of chronic pain as a result of it. I didn’t sever my spinal cord, I only pinched it, so I have all these weird feelings and neuropathy. With all of that combined, I was taking 45 pills a day… and that was no way to live.”

Post-surgery life proved to be mentally and physically brutal. Coming to terms with Robbins’ new limited mobility was no easy feat. He wanted a better quality of life for himself and finally spoke with his doctor about his Cannabis use. “I said I wanted to do it legal, and he was very supportive of my choice in 2001. He signed my documents, but I never submitted my paperwork that year because I was so nervous. But in 2002, he signed it again. I turned it in that time around and I’ve been growing ever since,” Robbins said, reaching for his wallet to show me 15 years’ worth of medical cards. Robbins became a caregiver and grower for others in the chair community. During Robbins’ time completing his Master’s degree from Portland State University, he helped a fellow student with brain cancer to seek Cannabis until he eventually passed. Cannabis helps bring the disabled community closer together, Robbins said. “The focus is on growing something living. So often in the disability community, we focus on what we have lost. You have to radically change that thought process into how can I cultivate something with the fullest amount of life. Growing changes people’s attitudes. I know a lot of folks in chairs that grow and it’s what keeps them alive.”
obbins is a champion for the benefits of consuming Cannabis and growing the plant. He said that this kind of horticulture therapy gives the chair community and disabled community a newfound purpose. The constant rule changes and additional costs of affording an OMMP garden is difficult for an already marginalized community. Many people with disabilities are on low or fixed incomes, with little to no wiggle room financially. Additional fees and rules are pushing many of the original medical growers with disability out of the program. “All of my pharmaceutical prescriptions are covered by my health insurance, but if the medical program dissolves without securing protections for OMMP patients with affordable access to Cannabis, it’s really expensive to use as an option.” The steady erasure of the OMMP program has proven problematic since Measure 91 passed. “We know [Cannabis] works and doesn’t have side effects, so I simply ask why my insurance won’t cover Cannabis? I am on the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and I have been a medical Cannabis patient for over fifteen years, but my health plan won’t cover it. No one can answer that question for me.” I asked Robbins what Cannabis products can help people dealing with severe spinal cord injuries. “Dealing with a major spinal cord injury requires a multipronged approach because the healing is just as mental as it is physical. When it comes to dealing with your headspace, I recommend finding Cannabis products high in the terpene Humulene. It’s the only thing that helps my mind slow down and reset. Humulene is present in hops, but is also found in Cannabis. I suggest using strains high in Humulene. So far, the Moe G OG strain from California has had the most Humulene percentages I have found, strain-wise,” Robbins said. “When treating chronic pain and neuropathy, Full Extract Cannabis Oil (FECO) has made the biggest difference. I usually take it in capsules either raw or infused with coconut oil. I find that 2:1 oil works the best for pain. The ratio of THC to CBD helps manage inflammation and spasms and keeps the pain at bay. Not to mention a better quality of life as well.” For those with limited mobility, Robbins recommended the Oregon’s Finest Convention Center Dispensary in Portland and believes that Chalice has been extremely committed to accessibility at each shop location, and said the Nectar in Gresham off Burnside Road is another excellent location for those seeking ADA accessibility. Robbins’ work on pioneering accessibility for Cannabis retail and cultivation practices is vital to the growth of the industry as we continue to move forward. Robbins empowers those around him by showing those with spinal cord injuries that healing is possible. Farming Cannabis is hard, physical work but Robbins said cultivating Cannabis has given him a newfound appreciation for nurturing life.

Fall is an absolute whirlwind of activity in Oregon’s outdoor cannabis scene. Predominantly found in Southern Oregon, but very much occurring statewide, farms begin to harvest the crops they’ ve worked so hard all year to produce. Picture 10-pound plants being harvested by the hundred, trim machines whirring twenty four hours a day, and crews of out-of-state workers toiling day and night to get the world’s most valuable crop harvested before winter rains set in. Though cutting the plants down and carefully hauling them indoors is only half the work, a lot of the most difficult aspects of Cannabis production are now over for full-season farmers. Once harvested, the drying, curing and trimming processes are initiated as the product is readied for market. This year, the team at Oregon Leaf defined what The Harvest Issue means to us and came to the conclusion that our focus needs to be exclusively on fullseason sun-grown outdoor plants. This is a make or break style of growing in which farmers work year-round to harvest a single time. Success is largely dependent upon weather and timing. It usually takes years of practice and a little luck to pull off a flawless crop. This grow style produces some of the most jaw dropping, awe inspiring plants imaginable. With the right environment, some genetics will easily grow to more than 15 feet tall and 10 feet in diameter. On this trip, we had the privilege and pleasure of visiting some of Oregon’s most elite outdoor farms. Each had unique techniques, genetics and perspectives on the future of the industry and their place within it. Please enjoy this special issue and take a moment to walk among the giants with us.

Liontree Farms brings you up a windy dirty road before arriving at the property. The farm is located on a south facing terrace a handful of miles west of Talent, Oregon. This slope is notorious for having some of the best sun in all Southern Oregon. Most strains are grown from seed, as the crew is always eager to phenotype new varieties. Chem Dog, Sour Diesel, Dutch Treat and Wedding Cake are some of the varieties kept in rotation each year.

The plot is divided into terraced rows that continually rise in elevation, making the walk to the top a bit of a work out. Growers and owners Aaron Ward and Will Eubank personally walked us around, stopping to show off some of their favorite varieties as we smelled almost every plant. The Liontree team was particularly stoked with many of the Doc Seeds Headbanger crosses, as they were exhibiting vigor, and high levels of terpene and resin production. Water tanks are located at the top of the hill, as the farm utilizes a gravity-fed irrigation system to help water the organic dry fertilizers. The love and care that goes into each plant is apparent. This is some of the best full-season farming we have ever seen.

PILOT FARM
is a gorgeous, tier 2 recreational Cannabis farm situated on the southern slope of Mount Ashland. The scenery is breathtaking; the first steps onto the property are met with a spectacular view of the valley just before the Oregon-California border. Terraced rows of plants are situated in what the farm calls “Machu Picchu,” the smaller, top portion of the canopy. We first ventured to the lower terrace which involved—I kid you not—a steep 10-minute quad ride down the treacherous, rocky slope. The upper and lower canopies are separated by roughly a mile and a half, but are located on the same address, making Pilot Farm one of the first and only OLCC licensed producers to have canopies separated a few miles apart. The lower canopy had a north and a south plot filled with a large variety of Mountain Girl crosses. That strain does particularly well in the high elevation climate. The Pilot Farm rarely allows outside visitors, which helps keep the Cannabis pest and disease free. Each strain is grown in native soil with little to no additives or amendments, an effort to be completely sustainable. Pilot Farm generates its own energy thanks to a large solar panel just behind the lower canopy. Many employees live on-site in small mobile homes or tents and many are seasonal.

living soil Cannabis farm just east of Grants Pass. When we first pulled around the driveway, the first thing my eyes caught was a towering row of what looked to be a sativa variety. The owners and farm dogs greeted us kindly at the gate, and lead us back to the various rows of legal Cannabis just starting to be harvested. Purple Fire, Durban Poison and the award-winning CBD Cherry Wine made up a few of the planted rows. Other varieties were in the process of being pheno hunted to see if they’d make the cut for next season. Alter Farms utilizes companion plants that grow alongside Cannabis plants, attracting and hosting beneficial insects and organisms that naturally keep pests at bay. Many of the plants at Alter Farms exceed 10 feet. However some of the sativa rows will reach nearly 13 to 15 feet tall by the end of the season, making the use of an orchard ladder necessary for harvesting tops.

Upper Rogue Appellation
ROGANJA is an OLCC licensed tier 2 farm located near Eagle Point. The in-house seed company, Massive Seeds, provides most of the genetics for the recreational farm. Pineapple Pomegranate, Rogue Blue Cheese, Rogue Valley Wreck and Jaeger x Herijuana OG were just a few of the varieties growing at the Roganja garden. Each tier had a placard distinguishing the strain, and making it easy to find plants for harvest. The stacked spears of dense, trichome covered colas towered over us as we moved through each row. A few rows were designated to light deprivation in order to get some early finishing varieties. The crew was busy leafing a few of the first finished plants to kick off the harvest season. We took a tour of the drying room, which was easily one of the more impressive, climate controlled humidors we’ve seen. Drying racks and weed walls were abundant in the cure room while we shuffled through to check out each cultivar. Even the stairwell was covered in hanging colas.

White Grapefruit, Jack Herer and Morning Star were a few of the strains growing at Sunna Ra. Plants were at optimal health, showing off their fall foliage as the days and their life get shorter. There was a tranquil, calming vibe I felt when exploring each plant at Sunna Ra. The passion and dedication to herbal plant medicine is evident and radiates from the garden. The owners Jon Cunningham and Brie Malarkey also own Sun God Medicinals, a medicinal plant and herb company which utilizes many of the plants and herbs they grow at this farm. Among the harvest are milky oat tops, passionflowers and skull caps to formulate beneficial blends that all work synergistically with cannabinoids to offer more powerful relief.

worthy OMMP full-season garden with plenty of robust plants. After touring so many recreational grows, it was a nice change of pace to tour a medical garden. We immediately felt the love as the entire Sacred Roots team, dogs and all, came to greet us as we pulled into the farm. I’m not just talking the owners… but the farm hands, trimmers, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, extended family, everybody welcomed us and showed love. Hugs were freely given and sparked joints were already in rotation. It felt so good to put faces with the OMMP garden I’ve only watched from afar. Sacred Roots grows a large variety of Humboldt Seed Organization strains. Pre-98 Bubba Kush x ’76 Afghan, Fire OG BX3 and Vienna Skunk were a few of the cultivars, all fed with Elevation Organics’ full nutrient line. Each plant was terpene rich and chunking up beautifully. The area’s dry weather will allow the plants to finish nicely.

SWEDEN CBD FARM
has operated for the last seven years under different forms: first as a hop farm and now fully as a Cannabis garden. It was previously a medical Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) garden and has transitioned to a recreationally licensed garden under the OLCC. Despite the medicinal benefits of Cannabidiol or CBD, most full-season farms focused on cultivating THC-dominant strains. This was the only recreational farm that predominately grew CBD and 1:1 ratios. In an industry where we are up to our necks in THC, it was a breath of fresh air to immerse ourselves in a recreational farm committed to growing CBD excellence. The farm is nestled in the heart of Applegate Valley, and the backdrop was absolutely stunning. The sloping hillsides and views of the surrounding Siskiyou Mountains gave a calming feel as we toured around the farm. The Cannabis plants were planted vineyard-style, directly in the ground, instead of the medical monsters we usually picture when talking about Southern Oregon. Instead of plant numbers, Cannabis farmers grow by canopy size. I was truly in weed country. It was fascinating to witness evolving fullseason cultivation techniques. “We are really basic organic growers that use a few whole form nutrients. Mulch in the form of straw and wood chips, is key to our growing system to help us conserve the limited water we have. We also add organic matter that will break down in the future,” Grower Mark Thorkelson said. Sweden CBD puts plants directly into the ground with additional organic amendments to enrich the native soil. The water comes from a seasonal pond that sustains itself from mountain water run-off, which the farm currently holds rights to. I know what you’re thinking. Typically, CBD is the Cannabis you smoke for medicine and rarely enjoy. Believe me, this is how I approached most CBD flower—until I made the trip down South. Sweden CBD is doing fantastic work with CBD cultivation. The farm specializes in the strains CBD Medi Haze, CBD Therapy and CBD Yummy. “We use feminized seeds from CBD Crew (CBD OG Kush) and the Humboldt Seed Organization. Then, via leaf tissue samples and cloning, we create THC:CBD ratios within the strains,” Thorkelson said.

I’m amazed at how many people are using it already in diverse ways, from CBD gummies for recreation, to Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) for serious illness. I hope Oregon leads the way with CBD research and continues to expose people to the benefits of CBD,” Erste said. The CBD Green Crack 3:1 was a revelation for me. Green Crack alone is a legendary strain in itself, despite its controversial name. The bud structure was full-bodied and just as resinous as its THC-dominant counterparts. I could smell the citrus limonene with generous overtones of myrcene—this is the CBD flower you actually want to smoke. Sweden Farms delivers the craft grade of CBD-dominant flower our industry demands. Among other standout CBD crosses were the Blue Dream CBD cross and a gassy OG Kush CBD. The Blue Dream CBD was cloaked in a deep purple fade and laced with glassy trichomes. But, the true glamour queen of Sweden CBD was the amethyst tinted Raspberry Diesel CBD. Honestly, it was one of the most beautiful flower expressions I have seen in Oregon. After viewing the Raspberry Kush CBD, I have a whole new respect for the potential of CBD genetics. Clean mushrooms using a paper towel to remove any dirt. Do not run under water.

3. To prepare mushrooms, remove stems. Finely chop and set stems aside. Lightly coat each mushroom with olive oil, salt and pepper. Place cap side up on a baking sheet for later use.
4. In medium sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons olive
oil over medium heat. Add shallots and garlic and cook until translucent. Remove the shallots and set aside. Add sausage to the pan and cook until all the pink has disappeared. Add the chopped mushroom stems along with the cooked shallots, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Be sure to break apart sausage, with spoon, until crumbled into small pieces.
5. Remove sausage mixture from heat and add in
breadcrumbs, and cream cheese. Blend until cheese is melted and distributed throughout. Add canna-oil to mixture and blend together for two minutes.
THANKSGIVING CANNABIS APPETIZERS 1. Heat oven to 325 °F. 2. Place the bread on your
work surface. Rub one side of the bread with the garlic cloves. Drizzle or brush the bread with the canna-oil.
3. On a baking sheet, toss the
olive oil with the tomatoes, garlic and scallion. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the tomatoes have lost their shape and the scallions turn golden brown.
4. Divide the tomato mixture
between the bread slices and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
