Welcome to Harrogate! Dear Friends, Confidence is a popular subject today. We are taught to be self-assured, to think confidently, and to live boldly. Confidence was such a key hallmark of the leaders of the early church that they were able not only to hold their position, but advance the cause of the kingdom of God even in the face of fierce opposition and persecution. But their confidence was not in themselves, their understanding, or their abilities – it was in the person and power of our Lord Jesus and their relationship with him: ‘As they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognise them as having been with Jesus’ (Acts 4:13, NASB). As we welcome you to this conference we pray that you will meet with our Lord Jesus in a deep and personally refreshing way. It matters not whether this is in the worship, the teaching, the prayer ministry or the conversations. It matters that you meet him afresh. As that happens you will leave with a renewed and authentically biblical confidence that our Lord God ‘who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion’ (Philippians 1:6).
SOCIAL MEDIA We’d love you to use social media #nwlc16 as much as possible throughout the conference. Not only is it a great way of sharing your thoughts with your immediate network, but it also allows you to connect with others, both at the conference and further afield. We aim to share some of the comments with you, which will hopefully encourage and inspire you. If you are using Twitter, use the #nwlc16 hashtag so your tweets can be seen by those following the event.
The task is huge, the battle is real and the pressures are enormous but with our God all things are possible.
With warmest regards,
John & Anne Coles on behalf of the National Leadership Team and Regional Directors

Is this conference the start of something new for you? Are you longing to see the nations changed? We are a movement of leaders working together to see churches renewed, strengthened and planted, living out the Word of God in every aspect of life, serving God by reaching the lost, broken and poor, and demonstrating the good news of the kingdom of God to all. To play our part in changing nations we work with those in various key leadership roles within the church – recognising that support will look different for different roles. We have identified three areas of leadership where New Wine can provide support: • For those in senior church leadership • For those training for senior church leadership • For all who are employed by or serve in a leadership role in the local church Working with leaders is at the heart of our vision to see the nation changed: together we can transform our churches and our communities. If you aren’t a member yet, you can join our Leadership Network while you’re here by speaking to a member of the Leadership Network Team. For more information, visit new-wine.org/network 10

New Wine: On a mission At New Wine we take seriously our vision to see the nation changed and want to do more. As a movement, over the last year we’ve been investing in: • The emerging generation of leaders in their 20 and 30s • The multiplication of the Kingdom • The development of a range of resources that support renewal and mission in the local church • New Wine’s international ministry Would you, in conjunction with your leadership team, consider how you could support New Wine financially, as you would other mission partners and commit to regular financial giving to our mission? Speak to one of the National Leadership Team, Regional Directors or Leadership Network Team to find out more.
