Congratulations on choosing Northwest Missouri State University! This packet contains important information you need to know about becoming a Bearcat, such as housing or commuter information, health forms, checklists, deadlines, registration and orientation.

Your Northwest Network Account username, also known as your S-number, was provided to you in your acceptance letter. This number will allow you to:

■ apply for major-specific scholarships
■ sign up for New Student Orientation
■ apply for housing, if applicable
■ view your room assignment, if applicable
■ view your class schedule

DEGREE AUDIT
Transfer and returning students are automatically placed into the current catalog year. Students who have been continuously enrolled at a higher education institution have the option of being placed in the catalog that would have been in effect upon their initial enrollment in higher education beyond high school. For students who have not been continuously enrolled, this is also true if they have 18 months or less of nonattendance in higher education beyond high school. If you would like to change your catalog year, you must complete a form in the Registrar’s Office upon your enrollment.

HEALTH HISTORY FORM
Prior to starting classes at Northwest, students must complete and return a Health History Form. The form can be found in this packet or at nwmissouri.edu/wellness/pdf/healthform.pdf and should be returned to Wellness Services at least 30 days before classes begin.
In addition to completing a Health History Form, students must submit immunization records showing two doses of MMR vaccine and the Meningococcal vaccine. Per Missouri state law, no student will be allowed to move into residence halls without Northwest receiving record of the Meningococcal vaccine.*

ORIENTATION AND REGISTRATION
Enrolling in classes and participating in orientation are important steps to beginning your student experience at Northwest. There are several options to fit your needs, including both on-campus and virtual content. Either way, you will work with an advisor to enroll and learn about campus resources and services to set you up for a successful transfer.
Steps to get started:
1. Visit https://www.nwmissouri.edu/studentsuccess/first-year-experience/index.htm to view your options to enroll in classes and participate in orientation.
2. Navigate to the Orientation tab in CatPAWS to complete the advising intake questions and select an orientation option.
3. Watch your email for more information about enrolling in classes and orientation. Just prior to transferring in the fall and spring, Northwest offers Advantage and Winter Welcome extended orientation programming. You will receive more information by email about these programs closer to the start of the semester. Transfer students are not required to attend, but it’s a great opportunity to meet people, get acclimated to your new home and take care of campus business.
