Stomp Comes to Rockford

ooking for a jolt to shake you out of the winter doldrums? A night of Stomp might be just the ticket. The internationally acclaimed, percussionheavy show comes to the Coronado Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 7:30 p.m. The show lasts almost two hours with no intermission. “Our show includes dance, percussion and theater, using everyday items,” says cast mem-
ber Guido Mandozzi. “We take things like brooms, trash cans, match boxes and make a show out of it. There’s no talking. It’s just mime and rhyme. And it’s fun.” Making music by using objects like toilet plungers, Zippo lighters, plastic bags, rubber tubes and even newspapers, the cast members are constantly in motion, sweeping floors or swinging from above the stage, for example, as they bang on everything in sight.
