Come and join us for an osprey and wildlife motor boat cruise around Kielder Water. Enjoy a two-hour guided trip around the lake to take in as much wildlife as we can, hopefully including our iconic ospreys. You will be transported in our covered motor boat operated by experienced Calvert Kielder staff and accompanied by knowledgeable Northumberland Wildlife Trust volunteers.

Anyone can volunteer with Northumberland Wildlife Trust. With over 60 nature reserves, an active events programme and a busy office, we appreciate help from people just like you. Whether you are happy to get your hands dirty creating and maintaining habitats on our reserves, enjoy helping out at events, or want to help at our new Wildlife Discovery Centre at Hauxley, we have a volunteering opportunity for you! Volunteers are an important part of NWT and we hope to give everyone a fun and rewarding experience. We have an action force of over 300 volunteers who contribute around 180 days of work for us each month. Whatever your background, we can find a position to match your interests and abilities.

Take part in our public consultation on improving East Chevington Nature Reserve as part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund Catch My Drift project. Staff from JBA Consulting will formally present their masterplan ideas and explain the reasoning behind them and then be on hand to answer questions and discuss suggestions. Drop in to Hauxley from 23/10 until 06/11 to view the proposals and pass on any feedback to NWT staff.

Take part in our public consultation on improving the wildlife hides at East Chevington Nature Reserve as part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund Catch My Drift project. Staff from Biotope will formally present their ideas and explain the reasoning behind them and then be on hand to answer questions and discuss suggestions. Drop into Hauxley from 28/08 until 11/09 to view the proposals and pass on any feedback to NWT staff.

The Restoring Ratty team is attending Falstone Show this year. Please come and talk to us if you want to learn more about the project or would like to get involved.

Join artists Geoffrey and Sarah Bradford on a one day tutored printmaking course. Learn techniques including soft cut lino, press print, mono print and other easy to learn processes. Bring along photographs of your favourite subjects and turn them into beautiful images. You will take home several pieces of work from the course together with skills you have learned to use again and again. Age 16+ only.

Jenna Berry talks about the seals which can be found in Britain, both resident species and unusual visitors from the arctic. We will find out how to identify them and learn about the behaviours and physical adaptations which make them so unique. NWT members only.
