In 1966, our founder was burning midnight oil, toiling away with his fledgling one-man band children’s clothing business. Over half a century later, much has changed. The world we live in. Why Merino is the Sustainable Choice.
Merino is a wonderful material that is naturally kind to the environment. It’s renewable, recyclable and biodegradable. Not only that, merino has unique odour absorbing properties and requires less washing, saving water and chemicals.
Merino is also naturally thermoregulating. The fibres of the wool react to your body temperature and the outside environment, keeping you warm when temperatures plummet, yet cool as temperatures rise. This makes Merino a perfect choice for uniforms and teamwear, along with outdoor enthusiasts.
Cloke Merino is 100% pure and sourced only from the very best Merino sheep.
WORLD-LEADING MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY

Several Cloke styles feature a special membrane layer. A technologically advanced version of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), it’s similar to the material used in ultra lightweight adventure tents and military-grade survival suits, and is incredibly windproof and waterproof.
You’ll find this on all Cloke softshells, the new Hauroko Windproof Fleece, and the new Luxmore Heavyweight Puffer.

Made from 100% Recycled Polyester
We’re transitioning all of our plain microfleeces to use only 100% recycled polyester. The material retains all of the same properties as virgin polyester but is significantly kinder to the environment, preventing PET (plastic) bottles from going to the landfill and polluting the oceans. Choosing Cloke microfleeces over non-recycled options also provides a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions during the manufacturing process. That feels good, too.

CONSCIOUS HOODS
A More Sustainable Blend
Our 300, 360 & 450 gsm cotton/poly collections are transitioning to a more sustainable blend of materials. Hoodies and sweatshirts in the range now feature a mix of 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester. The new blend retains all the Cloke comfort and warmth expected. But feels even nicer to wear knowing it’s environmentally friendly.
The recycled polyester is actually made from plastic bottles. The key ingredient in these bottles is polyethylene terephthalate, which is a resinous form of polyester. So when these bottles are taken to recycling centres, they can be chipped, melted and spun into yarn. That yarn is then used in Cloke garments, meaning your old fizzy drink bottle is now keeping you warm.
Importantly, there is no reduction in performance. Recycled polyester performs just the same as virgin polyester. So please remember to recycle. Your next hoodie might depend on it.

We don’t want to leave a mark on you.
The only lasting impression we want to leave is on you. Otherwise, we’d prefer it if the world never knew we existed and we had zero impact on the environment. We know that’s pretty idealistic but we don’t see any other way.
From the very beginning we work to make sure Cloke is positive for people and planet. Critical to this is our 12-point factory code of conduct, which is based on the principles set out by the WRAP Organisation (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production). This includes the prohibition of forced and child labour, abuse, discrimination; and ensuring fair compensation, working hours and a safe working environment. We’re increasingly using planet-friendly fibres, with many of our garments now including recycled polyester content. Equally importantly, every Cloke garment is made to be worn, to be loved, and to last - ensuring it is not contributing to the landfill problem.
We use the below icons in the product pages to better define the sustainability efforts of each product. Please be sure to look out for them.
95% of our courier bags are either recycled or made from waste products and are compostable 100% Natural Cartons. Cardboard boxes that are not repurposed from elsewhere (we re-use everything we can) are free from toxic organochlorine byproducts

The Global Recycling Standard (GRS) sets criteria for third-party certification of recycled materials, adding social and environmental requirements related to processing and chemical use. As part of our commitment to greater sustainability and transparency, Cloke became GRS Certified in May 2023.

Customise Cloke
Many Cloke garments can be easily customised for a completely on-brand or coordinated team look.
- Contrast Hood Linings. Selected hoodies can be customised with the colour of the hood lining replaced with a contrast colour of your choice.
- Contrast Drawcords. Most hoodies come with drawcords the same colour as the hoodie. They can be easily switched out to your favourite colour or view the ColourMe hoodie for suggested colour combinations available as standard.
- Zip Pulls All Cloke jackets with zip pulls can be customised with the zip pull colour of your choice.
- Relabelling Garments. We supply garments to many leading sportswear and fashion brands. We relabel these garments to feature their branding and can do the same with you.
Indent Cloke
Indenting is where we make products specifically to order. This could be as simple as one of our regular garments but with your neck label, or as complex as totally bespoke garments – your pattern, your colour, your sizes etc.
Indent garments are made in our partner factories in Asia. The minimum order quantity and lead times can start from as little as 300 units and 3 months. However, this will vary depending on the garment type, fabrication, freight method and other factors.
We stand behind our products to look great, perform well, and last a long time. Every Cloke is covered by a Lifetime Guarantee against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. If your Cloke fails due to a manufacturing fault we’ll repair or replace it free of charge*.

These are measured from a point about 1 cm below the armhole (outside of garment), and have a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 2 cm.
