Staircase Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2020 Participation - Personal Project Type - Furniture Installation

A part of the office renovation project. Inspired by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) of indoor airflow simulation. Coming to reality by the simple wooden waffle structure with the aid of local CNC factory. The office ceiling is 1.95m height. it can sometimes create a feeling of discomfort and gives an illusion of heaviness to the space. In order to alleviate this perception of weight, we wanted to give the staircase a sense of lightness and fluidity.

The form-finding process involves several CFD simulations. The geometry from the wind flow within the office is extracted in order to create the waffle structure. The geometry in turn morph and simplify according to the curvature analysis and standard requirements of a stair. figure: butterfly air simulation

Obstacle Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2020 Participation - Concept Developer Type - Goverment Proposal

This project is to find a form of reconciliation between city infrastructure (engineering) and levels of public engagement (architecture). One of the key issues Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) has with the drain is trash and sedimentation, the accumulation deposits itself throughout the drain and clogs it up. The main proccess of form finding involves a lot of experimentations and computational simulations.

The bench design along the drainage is to create a modular design that can be cheaply replicated and scaled from neighborhood to city scale. The arrangement of the design is informed by its context, it looks at both interactiveness and site specificity. Gene calculation:

Symmetrical sections requires fewer modules, therefore an optimized fabrication. The production of each gene for the modules controlled by the site’s context. I generate the C modules via ghpython where I feed the context data to follow the specific data I collect on site.

Junction Park Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2020 Participation - Concept Developer Type - Workshop/ Goverment Proposal

This project was an opportunity to get university students involved during school break and teach the students about structured design processes to create better convincing presentations. Later, we revisited the student’s design in-house and developed a new proposal. We aim to promote the use of bamboo in cities and show how public space can become a intrinsic part of the neighborhood’s social fabric.

Traffic Island Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2022 Participation - Coordinator Type - Workshop/ Internship

Solving traffic congestions can be an opportunity to create additional and much-needed public space in the city. Our proposal for the upgrade of Shwedagon Pagoda road U Wisara Road, adding 2,100 sqm of public space.Exploring urban leftover spaces in Yangon is an opportunity to create public space. The traffic islands on U Wisara street represent 82% of the size of Maha Bandula Park. SIZE: Traffic Island = 82% of Regular Park in Yangon

Plot ABC Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2020 Participation - Planning, Landscape Type - Community Driven Project

Design of a 0.4-acre community public space in Yankin Township. Inspired by Myanmar traditional bamboo scaffolding techniques of construction, the space shelters a multi-functional sport center/community event space; a zayat (resting area for seniors)/community e-library, and a chinlone sport area.

The design is inspired by Myanmar’s traditional bamboo scaffolding construction technique. This national intangible heritage is slowly disappearing and being replaced with steel structures. The point is to showcase through a real-world project in the center of the city the possibilities that bamboo holds within the construction industry, as an ecological material with a really low carbon footprint.W

Cemetery Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2022 Participation - Grid System, Landscape Design Type - Project Proposal

The design of the landscape was done without a site, the design is intended to adapt automatically to any given place. The focus was directed to the trees, their location shapes the grid of the graveyard. The circulation follows the grid organically, creating primary and secondary pedestrian pathways. This allows the passerby to walk around the site comfortably without getting lost.

Bachelor Projects Location - Yangon, Myanmar Year - 2016 to 2019 Participation - Reseacher, Experiments, Site management Type - School Projects

This project mainly explore the daily urban needs of the city. During the project, I reseached the most effective needs of the site. The project shows that how the simple architecture element can solve the majority problem of traffic, pedestrian, shops and other local street business. Since there is very few resource for environmental data in Myanmar, I collected the database of the site contexts via OpenStreetMap. After resarching the different environmental data from ladybug with the site data I made, I let the data patterns to continue my form finding proccess.

During my second year of university, I explored about kinetic architecture and experimented with different kinds of programming. From the resources available in my school, I created the miniature model with the arduino uno board connecting to the light sensor to trigger the machanism of the model.

Along with my urban studies in Mandalay for my school projects, I did my first built project by collabrating with local goverment authorities. The project was overall the client proposal design. However, the project was full of construction experience and my starting point of collaborating with local goverment.
