PERMANENT CHARITABLE LEGACIES
Bespoke funds for your clients that stand the test of time.
Protect the environment, provide opportunities to young people, bolster the arts, fuel medical studies, improve life in New York and beyond. Whatever your client wants to support through their permanent fund in The New York Community Trust, they will be remembered as a champion of the causes dear to them. They can choose one or multiple issue areas or communities to support.
The future is unpredictable. The New York Community Trust was built for that. Through our deep expertise, sound investment, and careful oversight, we will ensure your clients’ charitable gift meets tomorrow’s challenges, as we’ve been doing since 1924.
We have the right funds for your clients.
n UNRESTRICTED FUNDS provide maximum flexibility to confront New York’s needs—today and tomorrow. We will use your client’s gift to assist effective nonprofits working to address the most pressing problems.
n FIELD-OF-INTEREST FUNDS focus on your client’s particular areas of charitable interest, such as hunger, education, or healthcare. They define the purpose(s) and we match them with the best nonprofits working to advance their philanthropic goals.
n DESIGNATED FUNDS allow your client to name the charity, or charities, that you want to support. We invest the money, regularly make grants in your name, and monitor these organizations.

Judy Goldring’s brother was born with a brain injury. She created the Jack Goldring Fund in his memory.
Every year, her fund helps effective nonprofits improve the lives of those living with intellectual and physical disabilities.
The Trust used the Goldring Fund to expand a program at CIDA that provides job training to young Asian-Americans with disabilities.
Under New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law Section 553(b), unless the gift instrument provides otherwise, we may spend from an endowment fund the amount we deem prudent after considering the factors set forth in that statute.
