The Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation is an organization that helps those who suffer from Lyme Disease, focusing on children who are impacted. Lyme Disease is caused by bacteria that is usually transmitted by the deer tick. Medical treatment for children is very expensive, and this support organization is funded through donations from Kiwanis Clubs and individuals. They are also connected with the Pediatric Lyme Disease Fund, so they can take in as much donations to help children with the disease. The foundation currently has 27 active grants for children with Lyme Disease! And as of May 2014, the foundation had paid $269,000 for pediatric treatment!

Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center

The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center is a clinic located in Long Island, New York that is dedicated to serving unique care for children in extreme situations (e.g. trauma injuries).

Trauma takes the lives of 25,000 children each year and leaves another 120,000 children permanently disabled. And an estimated 25% of these deaths and disabilities could be prevented with proper and prompt care. Kiwanis helps to provide treatment as to meet the needs of families with children suffering from trauma (e.g., transportation). It also serves a number of other functions, such as outreach to parents and educational programs. It is a Kiwanis-Hospital association that was created in order to provide the funds and staff necessary to create a trauma center with extensive medical assistance and safety.
