Student Safety Remains Our #1 Priority We've maintained a focus on hybrid learning environments, enhanced tech, and campus facilities. The unexpected pivot to a “virtual everything” during the COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for the New York Tech community of students, faculty, and staff to demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and technological expertise. In survey after survey, the vast majority of our students report satisfaction with New York Tech’s virtual learning environments and flexible formats. SAFET Y AND SECURIT Y In addition to on-site security, our new TECH SAFE app enables students to have safety at their fingertips. -S erves as a mobile alert system to both request help and get notifications. -R equest a virtual "walk home" from either New York Tech's Office of Security or someone of your choosing, by tracking your movement until you feel safe. - Report a tip - Find emergency procedures

ON-SITE SECURITY

Immersing Students in Research Research and entrepreneurship are how we make the world a better place. Our faculty work alongside students in the Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC), conducting research and guiding students to create their own startup companies in bioengineering, robotics, nanotechnology, machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence, and more. The National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have designated New York Tech a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and funded a state-of-the-art lab on the Long Island campus for faculty and students to conduct cybersecurity research. Our business students, guided by faculty and alumni mentors, have developed and presented monetary policy strategies to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, worked on real-world case studies for major corporations, participated in research on psychological ownership in marketing and supply-chain economics, and developed block-chain applications. Architecture students worked on social impact design solutions in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria and sustainable and resilient design in local communities, and curated an exhibit on housing density in urban landscapes at the Skyscraper Museum in New York City. In New York Tech’s labs, undergraduate life science students work on a research study on the role of bacteriophages in fighting antibiotic-resistant super-bugs, while students in the School of Health Professions and College of Osteopathic Medicine conduct important research on Parkinson’s disease, cardiac disease, anatomy, and concussions.
