Whether our students are winning the world championships in robotics competitions like VEX or collaborating on resilient design ideas for New York City with architecture students in Italy, they are making names for themselves long before they graduate.
New York Tech is your laboratory. Working with faculty experts, students participate in National Science Foundation and other funded research projects, such as preventing cybercriminals from hijacking smart cars and finding ways to fight back against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Other research networks include the Research Experience for Undergraduates program, the Advanced Research Core program, and annual SOURCE (Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression).
Volunteer Participate in annual events like Relay for Life or international service trips to give back to communities in your backyard and around the world. Recent trips have brought students to Nicaragua, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
Create and Invent If something doesn’t exist yet, create it. Our Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center is home to a New York State certified business incubator. This state-of-the-art business and research facility allows students and faculty members to collaborate with local companies on their latest research and projects.

VIRTUAL LEARNING
A Legacy in Educational Technology: Flexible, Accessible, Resource-Rich, and Student-Friendly. The unexpected pivot to a “virtual everything” in Spring 2020 provided an opportunity for the New York Tech community of students, faculty, and staff to demonstrate their creativity, adaptability, and technological capabilities. In a post-semester survey, 80 percent of students reported satisfaction with New York Tech’s move to a virtual learning environment. Our trained and tech-savvy faculty are committed to continually honing their online teaching skills and toolkits to offer students in all majors a top-notch virtual experience as part of their New York Tech education.
Annual events were held in new virtual environments to engage students and professors, and they provided access to new and larger audiences. The virtual space encouraged collaboration and multimedia at New York Tech’s Digital and Animation Film Festival, the School of Health Professions’ Aletheia Research Symposium, and the Student Business Plan Competition, among other research, design, and final critiques and presentations.
RECENT VIRTUAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES: introduced E.R.R.S.E.L.A.—not just We a robot that can speak, play music, and answer questions, but also a philosophy and a virtual collaboration tool. Students from all majors can work from any location to design elements, capabilities, and software intelligence through a unique application programming interface (API). Architecture students piloted new estimating software in remote instruction to analyze their construction document models and generate cost estimates. Based on the success of this pilot, the Building Information Modeling-based curriculum will now be used in several courses at New York Tech. o fulfill their lab requirements, T undergraduate life science majors focused on weekly scientific and objective reviews of COVID-19-related topics, including one assignment where students studied and evaluated data on hydroxychloroquine and the trials using it to treat COVID-19.

Pathway Program Have you had trouble getting the test scores you need to be admitted into the college degree program of your choice? Have you scored at least a 5.0 on the IELTS, 41 on the TOEFL iBT, 36 on the Pearson PTE, or 70 on Duolingo? If so, you qualify for the Pathway Program! Offered by the English Language Institute, the program provides international students who need additional English language skills the opportunity to take both English and academic courses. Upon completion, you will be admitted directly to your degree program; you will not need to reapply.
