PHPP Structure

The PHPP is an excel spreadsheet, made of several ‘workbooks’ all woven together into a single model which can be used to determine: 1. Annual Energy Demand 2. Peak Heating and Cooling Loads 3. Primary (Source) Energy Demand

BUT you can easily ‘unlock’ the worksheet if you want to make any changes. Simply go to ‘REVIEW / UNPROTECT SHEET’ in the excel toolbar to unlock the worksheet. By default, the PHPP worksheets are ‘locked’ which means that you can only input data in the yellow ‘input’ cells Note: There is no password needed in order to ‘unlock’ the worksheets in the PHPP. They are only ‘locked’ in order to prevent unwanted or accidental editing and errors. If you ‘unlock’ the worksheet for any reason, be careful not to break anything by accident. 4 / 22

The PHPP is originally built in SI (metric) units. In order to create an IP (imperial) version of the model, a duplicate set of worksheets was built ‘on-top’ of the original SI version. The actual calculations are still done in the SI worksheets which are not all ‘hidden’ by default. If you want to access these SI worksheets for some reason, you can ‘unhide’ them in Excel.
