Graduate Study
96% of our Class of 2022 were employed or pursuing further education within one year of graduation.
Since its founding in 1916, The New York School of Interior Design (NSYID) has been a leader in interior design education. We’ve trained the industry stars whose work defines interior design today, and by rigorously preparing students for professional success, we’re shaping the designers of tomorrow. Students come from all over the world to study at NYSID because they know that there’s no better place to study interior design. They come because NYSID is a single-focus educational institution, because of its specialized graduate programs, and because of the personal attention they receive in its small classes and through student services.
Preparing our students for professional success is one of our top priorities, and it shows: 96% of our graduate students were employed or pursuing further education within one year of graduation. And many went to work at top firms such as Gensler, HOK, Rockwell Group, Perkins+Will, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and Jeffrey Beers International.
In its short list of interior design programs, Architectural Digest called out NYSID for producing “critical thinkers who can look at design through social, cultural, and historical lenses.” AD also lauded NYSID’s breadth of offerings that allow graduates to hit the ground running in the workplace.
NYSID is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Our Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA1) program is the only interior design graduate program in New York State accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).
