IRVING SKEIST AWARD

Given for the best PhD thesis in Polymer Science, this award was established in 1985 to honor Irving Skeist, Class of 1943, by his associates, on the occasion of his retirement as President of Skeist Laboratories, Inc., consultants to the polymer industries.

PROFESSOR TURNER ALFREY PRIZE

This prize, established in 1987 by Professor Herbert Morawetz in memory of his teacher and co-sponsored by the Dow Chemical Company, is given to a graduate student whose paper has been published, or has been accepted for publication in a refereed journal.

This award celebrates the importance of effective communication in the STEM fields, recognizing that the ability to present ideas compellingly is crucial for innovation, collaboration, and leadership.
