Born in June of 1957, Nelson Figueroa was considered at an early age to be prodigious. As years went by he was class valedictorian in 1968. From there he went onto amass scholarships to Ivy League prep schools and wound up with a two year stint at Queens College. He was felled by the scourge now known as AIDS in 1983, years before medical protocols existed. Nelson gives thanks to his family (Ray and Marisol) and to his God.
