Our Quality Commitment
A Supportive Learning Environment
Quality learning is a priority for NZMA. We demonstrate this through:
Our student support team helps from Day 1 with any questions you have about your study, accommodation, transport, insurance, visas, banking and settling in to life in New Zealand.
• An Academic board chaired by Dr Alastair McCormick, who at the University of Auckland, was Dean of the Business School for 14 years and then became Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University • A four year audit cycle, the highest acknowledgement of quality, awarded by NZQA, a government agency that assesses educational quality
We have small class sizes and our tutors have a lot of industry experience. They make sure you graduate with real skills to help you succeed in today’s competitive workplace. Our learning facilities are top quality. We also provide our hospitality management students with a student run café (a great meeting place for all students) and a professional bar for training purposes. We support any student’s additional English language needs through Fern, our dedicated English language school.
• Approved pathways from NZMA’s diplomas to New Zealand and international universities
Your New Career

At NZMA they teach you about the industry worldwide. Students here get a lot of exposure to different countries and cultures, which obviously is very relevant to the workplace if you want an international hospitality career. The tutors are excellent, and they teach you the theory for things, and then you get to put it all into actual practice. It’s a much more effective way of learning I think. – Ishupal Singh (India)

I was keen to study hospitality because it’s a very diverse industry and opens doors to the rest of the world. I love travelling so I want a qualification that is recognised not just in South Africa, but in other countries too. NZMA’s hospitality management diploma seemed perfect. – Taryn Haycock (South Africa)

Studying at NZMA was very worthwhile. They have fantastic industry functions which help us to practice, gain confidence and showcase our skills to the industry. Also it’s like one big family because everyone makes you feel so welcome. When I was at high school I had no idea what I was going to do in the future, but NZMA really changed my life and gave me a sense of direction. It helped me realise that hospitality work was what I wanted to do. – Zhao Zhen Paddy (China)

At our School of Hospitality and Management, you can graduate with globally recognised qualifications in business or hospitality management. And knowing how important work is to many of our students, we have our own recruitment business, Redfish who will support you to find a job.
The choice is yours. After hearing about NZMA and Redfish I decided to come to New Zealand. My goal is to get a job here but I knew it would be hard without having a local qualification. For me this business course is about getting a New Zealand qualification and improving my English, especially my business vocabulary. I’m very happy with my decision. The course is challenging because it’s all in English and it’s a really multicultural environment which is great. I have classmates from Fiji, Samoa, Asia, India and everyone is really nice. – Lidia Chubarova (Russia)
