Featured on the 40c stamp is the Douglas DC-3, first used by the RNZAF as long-<Jistance transport into the Pacific theatre of WlNI!. In post-war years it became the mainstay of domestic travel and was also used for aerial topdressing.
Depicted on the 80c stamp is a Fletcher FU24 Topdresser - the mainstay of the country's aerial topdressing fleet and what could be called a Kiwi icon. Continual development has seen the Fletcher increase in power and payload, and as a result is the topdressing aircraft most familiar to the general public.
On the 90c stamp is the de Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth, first used

SHEETS OF 15 STAMPS For the keen collector, sheets of 25 are also available.
Shown on the $1.30 stamp is the Fokker FVllb/3m (Southern Cross) flown by Charles Kingsford Smith, which made the first trans-Tasman crossing on 11 September 1928. The flight from Sydney to Christchurch took 14 hours 25 minutes and a crowd of 35,000 people was there to greet the triumphant landing.
The $l.50 stamp is the de Havilland DH 100 Vampire - the RNZAF's first operational jet aircraft The first examples, 18 FB52s, arrived in Auckland during 1951-52 and went to form No. 14 Squadron at Ohakea. They were followed later in 1952 by six T55 dual trainers and in 1953 by eight ex-RAF FB5s, as attrition aircraft
Illustrated on the $2 stamp is the Boeing & Westervelt Seaplane flown by George Bolt, which carried the first domestic official airmail and was one of the first aircraft built by Boeing.

ART FROM NATURE A fine issue of stamps celebrating the use of our natural resources - from Greenstone to Oamaru Stone, Paua, Kauri, Rax and Fern. These materials are strongly connected to our national identity and have been used by New Zealanders to create items of enduring beauty and versatility. Each stamp tells the visual story of the raw material brought to life as a piece of art. The designs of the art and the colour schemes also reflect our national character. Unique to this issue, and a first for New Zealand Post, are the blocks created for each denomination. These sets of four have been made using a 90° rotation of each stamp, to create a sense of what the completed work of art looks like. They recognise the patterns that occur naturally and which are so often duplicated in art. These blocks also make an intriguing addition to your collection.
A TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALAND BRED GARDEN FLOWERS New Zealanders love their gardens and, to celebrate one of our favourite pastimes, we've created a new issue of stamps featuring six locally bred flowers. Three are local and international award winners, one is named specifically for the International Year of Volunteers, another is the first in the world to produce this colour combination, while the last is the first yellow perennial petunia in the world. To create the stamp designs, designer and artist Lindy Fisher created one beautiful overall image forming a bouquet, which was then divided to create the individual stamps. Gutter strips featuring the whole plant have also been created. As a series they present an overall effect of visual delight, while as individual stamps they invite appreciation of the finer detail. In all, the stamps are an attractive collection with lasting appeal either individually or within their varying presentations.
