Dear stamp enthusiast With this new year - and in fact a whole new decade - it is appropriate that we give 'Focus' a fresh new look for 1990. In this issue of what has become a hand-book for the New Zealand stamp col1ector, not only have we revamped the format, we have also redesigned 'Focus' to incorporate more detailed graphics and more extensive information. We are working hard to make 'Focus' more interesting to the many different types of people who collect stamps. One way to introduce different perspectives is to incorporate into 'Focus' a guest editorial column. From the next edition onwards we shall invite people with a special interest in philately to share their views and experiences with you. Throughout these pages you will also have a preview of what we have scheduled for the remainder of 1990, of particular note on this 150th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi is the 'Heritage - The Maori' issue.
