Welcome OACUHO Hello OACUHO Members, Here we are in June. What does June mean to you? Rest, rejuvenation? A ramping up to the next season? Mid-‐assignments or facilities blitz? Whatever it means to you, June is a beautiful time of year. I hope you’re able to take time to enjoy the sunshine and reJlect on a fantastic year. For the residence life-‐types out there, I hope you’re looking forward to some vacation, some effective planning for training and some team-‐building for your RLM team.

For the assignments and admissions-‐types, all the best with sending out your Jirst (and many more) rounds of offers, answering questions and facilitating requests of interesting and varying nature. And for the facilities-‐types, I hope that June has you Jinishing your room audits, successfully completing your procurement and projects and Jinding constant reminders of a successful year. #IWroteUnderMyBed Whatever your role (I’m sorry for those I’ve missed), your contributions are valuable and they see to it that our students have the best experience possible.
I was very pleased to see many people from a variety of roles and institutions participate in the very successful OACUHO Spring Conference in May 2014. Congratulations to Laurier on a job well done. I hope that this opportunity for learning was as valuable for you as it was for me. I’m always happy to connect with those from my professional home. Over the next several months, I would encourage you – and yes I mean you – to participate in OACUHO. Our professional development, communications, membership engagement and conference offerings will be tailored to best serve the needs of different portfolios and the organization as a whole. What’s to come from the Pulse The Pulse is up and running this year with a fresh new look. The new design will not be the only change. With a experienced, comprehensive and creative communications committee, you will soon see more content that applies to more functional areas of student housing. With that, improvements to the Listserv communication, social media and the up an coming OACUHO History Project are in the works. Rainclouds didn’t stop Laurier from Shining Some highlights of the OACUHO Spring conference held at Wilfrid Laurier University.
The Spring Conference Planning Committee at Wilfrid Laurier University would like to extend a huge thank-you to our fellow members, Board of Directors, conference attendees and corporate partners!
