Choose to Learn On Campus or Remote Families have until August 14, 2020 to choose either the remote or on-campus option for each individual child to meet the needs of their particular situation. This August 14 decision will be made per child for the session 1 duration only, with the opportunity to switch modes of learning in future sessions:
SESSION 1
SESSION 2
SESSION 3
September 9 – October 9 (Fall Weekend)
October 13 – November 20 (Thanksgiving Break)
November 30 – January 15 (MLK Weekend)
Oak Knoll will reevaluate on-campus and remote scheduling for the winter and spring as the school year progresses.
Remote Learning Option
A student who is remotely learning will not be allowed on campus and will not be allowed to participate in on-campus activities for the duration of their selected time period. All classrooms will be equipped with technology to allow students to learn remotely simultaneously with the live instruction on campus. Families would need to “re-enroll for the next virtual segment so that we may plan accordingly in classrooms and on campus.
A student who is in the face-to-face option may participate in oncampus activities for the duration of their selected time period. Families would not need to “re-enroll for face-to-face instruction for the next specified period of time. They would only need to inform us of a change to virtual learning. Students may switch to remote learning after starting on campus, however, that student must remain remote for the duration of that specified session. Should a student test positive for COVID-19, the child must quarantine at home for 14 days and must include being symptom-free for four-consecutive days prior to return. An on-campus student who needs to stay home due to illness, but does not have COVID-19, is encouraged to focus on getting well in order to resume on-campus learning. A student may request to attend OKS remotely for a few days while recovering.
On-Campus Learning Option
On-Campus General Procedures
Only students and employees will be allowed on campus with the exception of drop off/pick up. All students and employees must wear masks at all times while on campus, except while eating. Hand washing/hand sanitizing will be implemented into the daily schedule. All students will have their temperatures checked upon arrival each day; employees will self check before entering campus.
