Oakwatch: The Oakland Code Enforcement Project Meeting Minutes May 20, 2015
Mission: Oakwatch: The Oakland Code Enforcement Project seeks to improve the quality of life for residents, employees and visitors by enforcing codes on negligent property owners, housing violations, parking violations, disruptive behavior, excessive noise and underage drinking in the Oakland neighborhood. I.

Oakland Police Partner Crime Reports, Q&A (15 minutes) a. Pittsburgh Police, Zone 4 Community Resources Officer Shannon Leshen) - Officer Thomas Pauley, the additional new Community Resources Officer for Zone 4, introduced himself to the group. -3 criminal trespasses -12 thefts from person -13 thefts from business -8 burglaries -5 thefts from residences -5 thefts from autos -4 stolen vehicles -1 armed robbery (a crime of opportunity, Commander Herrmann noted, without an emerging pattern) -1 theft by deception -1 arson -1 homicide Commander Herrmann spoke on the Ward Street homicide: two males in their mid-twenties were shot at, one fatally. The victim was from Edgewood/ Swissvale and the survivor was from Stanton Heights. The investigation is still ongoing. A Niagara Street neighbor expressed frustration at not knowing about the homicide until days after the fact. Plainclothesmen have been investigating Frazier and Ward drug suspicions based on 311 submissions. Zone 4 has an officer assigned to follow up on 311 submissions The arson incident was on N. Craig Street. There have been incidents near the Carnegie Mellon Campus of planters, sidewalk mulch, and trash being lit on fire. *Update: Arrest made of culprit on 5/29 by City of Pittsburgh Arson Detectives.
