This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok’s death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson. Comes with proof of provenance. A similar example from Jingdezhen kilns sold at Christie’s New York March 21, 2013 lot 1086. There are multiple iron-red porcelain pieces bearing Imperial poems by the Qianlong Emperor, from both the Beijing Palace Museum collection and the National Palace Museum, Taipei collection. One of them is a teapot with lotus pond design (fig. 1), another a tea bowl (fig. 2); both are illustrated in _Emperor Ch’ien-lung’s Grand Cultural Enterprise_, Taipei: National Palace Museum, 2002, pg. 51. Another two iron red tea bowls can be found in _Cha Yun Ming Shi - Gu Gong Cha Hua_, Taipei: National Palace Museum, 2010, pg. 142 (fig.3).
