Dear Friends, Welcome to Gowns & Graffiti, the 2018 OTMH Candlelight Ball. We have a wonderful evening planned for you with vibrant entertainment, a delicious menu, sensational live and silent auctions, and a little excitement. This year, your participation in our evening contests, auctions, and critical Cause-Within-A-Cause initiative will have a direct impact on mental health care programs and services provided at OTMH. Mental illness is more common than you think. One in five Canadians personally experiences a mental health disorder. Without exception, every family will at some time in their lives be touched by mental illness either through a co-worker, friend, or family member. Your support this evening will truly make a difference. cause WITHIN A cause Mental Health Navigator Program Expansion The statistics are staggering. One in five Ontarians under the age of 18 are struggling with mental health issues. The Navigator Program provides support to families seeking mental health services for their children and educating and connecting families to various treatment and program options within our community. Navigators are assigned to children and adolescents in need, following a crisis visit to one of Halton Healthcare’s Emergency Departments, after a referral from a family physician to Child and Youth Outpatient Services, or following discharge from the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Service. By ensuring “nothing is missing� for these children and youth struggling with mental health and addiction issues, the Navigator Program helps to increase the chances of recovery for a smoother transition to adulthood.
The Navigator Program currently does not receive any government funding. The program was initiated thanks to a leadership gift from the Mental Wellness Network (MWN) and has since benefited from significant community fundraising support. In order to sustain and grow this program we continue to rely on community support. Being there for our children and youth, giving them their best chance to return to their lives, starts with your support tonight!

As part of this evening’s festivities, we invite you to participate in the OTMH Candlelight Ball SILENT and LIVE AUCTIONS featuring an incredible collection of exciting and unique items. Funds raised from the evening auctions will help people living with mental health issues in our community. SILENT AUCTION OPENING
The bidding begins once doors open at the Burlington Convention Centre at 5:30 p.m. BIDDING
Bidding on an item is easier than ever with our auction technology provided by Givergy. Browse and bid on items with the tablets provided from the comfort of your table or within the auction area. Please refer to the ‘How to Bid’ document on the next page or feel free to ask any volunteer to assist you. SILENT AUCTION CLOSING
A ten-minute warning will be given prior to the silent auction closing. When the auction is closed, check the leaderboard screens throughout the room to see if you won any items. You can also check ‘MyBids’ on the tablet. If you won an item, please make your way to the cashier table located in the lobby. There, we will have your personalized invoice ready for you. Once you have paid for your item, we will mark your invoice PAID.
PAYMENT
All auction items must be paid for the night of the auction. Any auction items not paid in five business days following the OTMH Candlelight Ball will automatically be offered to the second successful bidder. Payment will be accepted as follows: Cash, Cheque, Debit, VISA, American Express or MasterCard. Please wait for your item to be brought to you when making payment. DO NOT COLLECT YOUR OWN ITEM.
