Local Installation of Moodle VLE The aim of this course is to instruct delegates in how to install Moodle successfully onto their own local Windows machine. At the end of this module delegates will be able to        

Download the precursor software needed (Moodle and a SQL server program) Install the SQL server program Create a database to accommodate Moodle using the SQL server program Know that SQL and Apache services need to be started Know where to copy the Moodle program file to Appreciate where the Moodle Data file is to be created and its importance Execute the local installation of Moodle. Understand the benefits of a local installation

This module contains both video and written documentation, along with notes copied from the Moodle site (with references) to provide the delegate with a reference for completing the installation successfully

Train the Trainer This aim of this course is to instruct the delegate in how to setup a Moodle classroom. At the end of this module the delegate will understand     

Which materials can be used in the interface How to format the materials for use Various third party sites where the material can be uploaded to Understand the interface to a point where they can create their own online classroom Enrol Students

This module contains video material designed to walk the delegate through step by step Delegates are invited to use the test system to create their own courses if need be, practise putting in and embedding material

Disaster Recovery Management This aim of this course is to instruct the delegate in how to back up and restore their course material. At the end of this module a delegate will understand    

The importance of backing up the courses and advantages of doing so How to backup individual courses See how a live course is deleted See how the live course is successfully restored.

Practice Delegates are invited to create their own local Moodle VLE from what they have learned and practise this for themselves
