Aim To see how to send email and attachments in Outlook 2010

Objectives At the end of this course the delegate will be able to      

Understand the Office Ribbon format Know how to read email without opening (review pain) Know how to compose an email Know how to insert an email address and subject Know how to flag as important Know to add an attachments and send

Overview There have not been too many changes since Outlook 2007 we will have the Office Ribbon

Tabs replace the menus we used in versions before Office 2007.

Icons are larger, more graphical and grouped

Sending email with attachments To compose an email we need to be in the “Home” tab and single click the “New Email” icon

Compose email here


Enter the email of the recipient

Enter the subject of the email* *It is a good idea to enter a subject so the recipient knows what the email is about. Also makes for easy finding if you need to find it again later Attaching a file Need to send something with it, a spread sheet maybe? It is possible to send small documents like memo’s, pictures, or spreadsheets via email, we call them attachments

By clicking the Paper Clip symbol highlighted above

You can then navigate to the file you want , click to attach, then click “Insert” to attach the file


If the email is of high importance, click the “!” button here When ready to send, click the “Send” button and the email will be emailed
