IIn the early years of the 1900’s, there were signs that read, “Whites only and no colored people allowed.” Racism was alive and enforced long after slavery was abolished. The unfair treatment of African
Americans was horrific. African Americans were tortured, abused and mis-treated. To fight the injustice, there were civil rights movements that included the non-violent protest of Martin Luther King and the “by any means necessary” stance of Malcom
X. Even after the civil rights movement of
Martin Luther King, his plight of “We Shall over Come,” didn’t progress until after his assassination. Today, we still fight for equal rights. The nation accomplished a lot under the leadership of our black president,
Barrack Obama. The discrimination of health care was resolved and the economy was stabilized. Although those are major
accomplishments, the fight for equality and fairness still exist. The fight of fair treatment and justice for all is an everyday struggle.
The legendary Lincoln Historical Building in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, owned by attorney Henry C. Service, is a 2-story building provides space for media groups, social networking, restaurants, salons and shopping. This building serves for collaborative business relationships and individuals to have access within for their culture. This building is a rarity because it has a disability sign for pregnant women. Puquaslie, an Apache woman says, “When I was pregnant, it was difficult to walk a long distance. I took my daughter, Zu’Ryan downtown to the Jazz District, and we toured the Lincoln Historical Building. I was so excited when I found a parking slot in front of the building.” AC McQueen, Founder of Sacred of Inutero Society says, “For some, success is measured by accomplishments, but Henry Service is a man that gives to those that have a need. His donations to non-profit organizations speaks with a legacy of lives saved.”
He was raised in Jamaica and married to Kimberly, a Caucasian woman. He is true a fighter for his black culture. This resident of Kansas City made history when he fought for the fair treatment and equality for the inmates of The Missouri Correctional Facility. He won this $150,000 lawsuit because he stood for equality and the stance

on good leadership. He is not a man that can be swayed or maneuvered to be sold the highest bidder. One woman says, “Henry is a very caring and knowledgeable attorney. He helped my daughter with her custody hearing for her daughter and led her in the right directions. We were very impressed with his service.”
