The impact of flooding can be devastating. It is important that those whose properties are at risk take appropriate action to resist flooding. The aim of this publication is to raise public awareness of the dangers of flooding and the measures that can be taken to minimise the
damage that can be caused to persons and property by the hazards of flooding.
As this booklet shows, much can be done by people themselves to reduce the damage
caused by flooding.
