Rite of Passage: A Short Story of A Young Teen Trying to Make it Right, from Killing his Younger Brother
Introduction Here’s a very short story about a kid that believes in the mantra that many good deeds will overlook a sin. Is there a sin so bad that the act can’t be forgiven? Do accidental sins fall in the same category? I am the Author of the short story that you’re about to read, titled Rite of Passage. It is very hard for nie to accept that when I die everything else about me dies. I prefer to believe that mv soul or spirit will continue living somewhere. ‘When my spirit or soul is all that is left of me, I hope I will have done well enough as a person to earn my rite of passage into heaven. I think a lot about what it takes to walk through the heavenly gates. Yes! I believe there is a heaven and hell. It’s liard for me to understand that this perfect universe was created by an accident. To me, the universe is so perfect that it liad to have a creator. God. With over fourthousand religions worldwide, l’in not the only one that believes in a God. I’m in no position to debate which religion is the true religion. Wouldn’t it be nice if all roads (religions) led to Heaven? It’s nice to have the freedom to choose a religion, and hopefully God will understand if I choose one that isn’t so favorable in His eyes. I hope He understands that mv heart believes in the one true God, his son Jesus Christ, Heaven, and angels. I think it’s not an easy task to earn a rite of passage into heaven especially when Jesus said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eve of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Look at what happened to Adam and Eve; they ate the forbidden fruit and I am assuming the fruit was ver tasteful to them. However, they disobeyed God’s commandment not to eat fruit from that tree. As part of their punishments, they had to leave the Garden of Eden. When God makes His laws to us, it should not be taken too lightly, because it’s for a good reason. I truly believe I have a choice to obey or disobey His laws, and this marks the divergence point between going to heaven and going to hell. I am not a perfect person and have no right to cast the first stone. I try to be a good person, so that I too may enter the gates of Heaven. Sometimes I may commit a sin that I am not aware of until later, then I would ask for forgiveness and try my best not to repeat that sin. What I know now is that I can honestly say to myself to enter God’s house, His Kingdom, Heaven. To do that, I would have to obey his rules, and a lot of other things that a good person must do to hopefully have the Rite of Passage into Heaven. The next section of this book is a short autobiography of myself. I thought since this is my first book, I should give a short story of myself.
