A note from the publisher When we first saw the manuscript of The Poison Throne from Celine Kiernan back in 2008, we knew we had discovered something very special indeed. The first book in the Moorehawke trilogy went on to wow publishers across the globe, with rights to the book selling in the USA, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, Poland, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. The Crowded Shadows, the second book in the trilogy, was published in 2009, and eager fans across the world rejoiced in the Autumn 2010 release of Book 3, The Rebel Prince. This year, we’re delighted to publish not just one, but two great new books from best-selling children’s author, Judi Curtin: Eva’s Journey and Alice & Megan’s Cookbook, as well as Fugitives, the eagerly-anticipated new novel from award-winning author Aubrey Flegg. There are also new Gaelic Football novels from Joe O’Brien and Dave Hannigan, an adventure novel from Brian Gallagher set during the Dublin’s 1913 lockout, and an extraordinary new novel from P.R. Prendergast, Dancing in the Dark, about a young girl’s attempt to put her life back together after the tragic death of her brother. And to top it all off, It’s Great Being Little – a stunning picture book about a little girl who just can’t wait to be big! The thrilling conclusion to Celine Kiernan’s critically-acclaimed Moorehawke Trilogy
About The Poison Throne: ‘An exciting fast-paced story – very much anchored in the fears, loyalties and vulnerabilities of its sympathetically drawn characters. An absorbing read – Kiernan’s plotting keeps the pages turning nicely. In quieter moments, she shows an acute sense of how to build tension, and when to twist the knife.’ SFX Magazine About The Crowded Shadows: ‘This is a book to be read, reread and treasured’ Inis Magazine
