Everyday Adventure As Breezer moves beyond its 40th year, I find myself reflecting on the great adventure that cycling brings to my life. Through all the years this beautiful, efficient vehicle has conveyed me through stunning landscapes and everyday scenes at a speed and scale that can’t be beat. And it returns in spades the energy I put into it. For a designer, creating new iterations of this wonderful machine, the key is to derive the best results from our precious watts of pedaling energy. It starts with ergonomic geometry that creates a lithe ride, effortless steering and a pedaling position that beckons you forward, wherever your day takes you. A frame should be a lively spring, with a spritely feel. When our personal power resource—pedaling—couples with a spot-on design, joy emerges. A Breezer jumps forward as if powered from within. D’Fusion Tubing
Breezer D’Fusion Tubing strengthens Breezer bicycle frames with a unique D-shape profile on the toptube and downtube, near the headtube intersection and at the toptube/seat tube junction. Significant stress travels through these joints, and D’Fusion Tubing’s broader cross-section diffuses that load over a wider area, reducing the risk of fatigue.

In the rear triangle, D’Fusion adds rigidity to the chainstays through a wider cross-section, while positioning the broader tubing area outboard to reduce chain suck. D’Fusion Tubing eliminates ride deadening and heavy gussets and allows the tubing do the lightweight and lively work it was designed to do.
Apex Disc Mount
Breeze-In Dropouts
The Breezer Apex Disc Mount puts the rear brake caliper on the chainstay. The increased diameter of the chainstay provides a significant increase in torsional rigidity over the over the traditionally thinner seatstay. Not only is braking performance increased and chatter decreased, but the caliper is also safely protected within the apex of the rear triangle – instead of “hanging off the back” like other bikes on the market.
Joe Breeze’s iconic Breeze-In Dropouts offer twice the rigidity and half the weight of standard dropouts. Breeze-Ins enable the stays to extend as close as possible to the rear axle, making tubing the rightful star of the show. Breeze-In Dropouts improve shifting, wheel changes, and of course, ride quality.

Uptown The Uptown’s aluminum frame is light, robust and rolls on durable 26-inch wheels which are nimble for city streets and can carry heavy loads. All Uptown models come with a rack, fenders, kickstand, and bell. Most models come equipped with a fully enclosed chaincase that preserves chain and clothing, and lights powered by a dynamo hub so you don’t have to worry about batteries. (The top-end Uptown even has a built-in frame lock.) With all these features, plus a three or eight speed drivetrain operated by a simple twist shifter, and Joe’s proven geometry, it’s no wonder The Uptown won Bicycling Magazine’s: Editors’ Choice Award for “Best Commuter Bike” four years in a row.
