New plans for Trimper’s Management change brings ‘fresh vision’ to Boardwalk staple By Elizabeth Bonin Staff Writer (April 24, 2020) With a new board of directors and management taking over Trimper’s Rides last month, major changes are rolling out for Ocean City’s landmark amusement park. Bruno, Wendy Dibuo, Bill Hopkins, Laura Minker and Scott Savage. Mike O’Neil, a 25-year veteran of the amusement park industry, will take over as the general manager. The takeover pitted one side of the Trimper family against the other, with a new stockholder majority apparently dissatisfied with the park’s financial circumstances. “The park’s performance had been deteriorating over

Born in 2008, the air show is similar to a circus, but rather than people doing flips and dives off of poles and swings, military aircraft perform incredible loops, spins and other acrobatic feats in the air near the downtown beach area. “It grew really quickly … and it’s become the kickoff [event] of the summer in the city,” Lilley said. Lilley credited the Harrison Group for aiding the show during its infancy — in 2008 the group provided hotel rooms for all of the pilots, and it remains an avid sponsor of the show. However, it wasn’t until the next year, 2009, when the show really kicked off and beSee AIR Page 2
