KRISTIE ANN DENNISON Ocean City

Kristie Ann Dennison, age 67, died Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Harrison House of Snow Hill in Snow Hill, Maryland.

Born in Washington D.C., she was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest E. and Shirley F. Miller Dennison.

She is survived by her sisters, Cyndy Dennison of Ocean City, Maryland, and Sherry Dabney (David) of Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Also surviving are her nephews, Matthew Dennison, Jimi Dennison (Maria) and Peyton Miller Bernell; cousins, Kara Moyer, Patrick Moyer (Selena), Megan Moyer and Michael Moyer; sister-in-law, Anne Dennison Creech; and uncle, George E Miller III.

Preceding her in death was her twin, brother Kevin, and Stephen Dennison.

Kristie was a graduate of Wheaton High School. Her great love was her music and spending time with family and friends.

She also enjoyed the beach life, a beautiful sunrise, sunset, a good fried shrimp platter, watching anything sports oriented and the Hallmark Channel at Christmas.

A graveside service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland, and will be private for the family.

A donation in her memory may be made to the Worcester County Developmental Center, 8545 Newark Rd, Newark, Maryland 21841.

Richard Dennis “Denny” Zimmerman, age 74, of Ocean City, Maryland, formerly of Frederick, Maryland, died Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland.

He was born in Frederick, Maryland, Dec. 15, 1945, to the late Harry and Octavia Gosnell Zimmerman.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Zimmerman, and daughters, Wendi Eitel and her husband, Steve, and Holli Foltz and her husband, Marc.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Collin, Meredith, Max and Ethan. He will also be missed by his “best dog ever,” Odie.

Denny was a 1963 graduate of Middletown High School, Middletown, Maryland, and then attended Tennessee Tech in Knoxville, Tennessee. R. Zimmerman

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick, Maryland and The Elks Lodge of Frederick and Ocean City, Maryland.

Denny was retired from Frito Lay and Frederick Coca Cola.

Cremation followed his death. A service will take place at a later date and will be private for the family.

MARY JAYNE MOTES Ocean City

Mary Jayne Motes, age 73, died on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at her home.

Born in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late A. Ritchey and Mary Sanker Ritchey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Motes, in 2009, and stepsons, Freddie and John Motes.

She is survived by a brother, Daniel Ritchey and his wife, Dianna, and best friend and “sister,” Judie Keller.

Mrs. Motes had worked as a clerk for Peebles Department Store.

Mary Jane had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that was Mary Motes

so infectious you were sure to end up with a sore stomach.

She loved deeply and if you were lucky enough to have a place in her heart you were blessed with a friend who would be there through thick and thin.

When asked for her opinion she was sure not to sugar coat how she felt and told you exactly how it was.

Nothing said party time like Mary Janes arrival with her famous deviled eggs in hand.

When she wasn’t out and about with her loved ones she was at home snuggled up with her cats Moo Moo and Cali. She adored her cats and would often refer to them as her babies.

She was no stranger to working hard although she was not well enough to work toward the end of her life.

She kept working as long as she possibly could and returned to work as quickly as possible after her first few hospital visits.

Even though she will be greatly missed we are thankful that she will be joining her husband, J.R, and many other loved ones in heaven. Rip Mary Jayne.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and will be private for the family.

ROBERT F. BOWMAN Ocean City

Robert F. Bowman, 84, of Ocean City, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 16, 2020.

He was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Edinburg, Virginia, and then moved back to D.C.

He was the son of the late Leo and Mary Frances Bowman.

Robert (Bob) will be greatly missed by his daughter, Lisa A. Zimmerman; son-in-law, Mark; three grandchildren, Kara, Kelsi and Zackery Zimmerman; and countless life-long friends.

Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Rita, and siblings, Patricia Lipincyski, Judy Anderson and Leo Bowman Jr.

Bob served as a private in the Army, a D.C. firefighter, a bailiff at P.G. County Circuit Court, a ground’s manager at Pepco, and finished his career at FEMA.

Bob and Rita raised Lisa in the Bowie-Crofton, Maryland area from 1968 to 1992 and then moved to Ocean City where they became active Robert Bowman Continued on Page 32
